Town Fiesta

Today is the town fiesta of my place where I grew up. I'm sure my family is now celebrating this special occasion. Last year I visited there. I had so much fun together with my family. It's just like a family reunion. I spent my three weeks vacation in Cebu City. I met my ex-coworkers and old friends. I limited myself to traveling far distances because I was pregnant with Kate. Beside I always get sick whenever I travel. I let my mom stay with me in the pension house. I miss being there now. I hope I can visit again soon.

In fact, they have 150 U.S. locations and 130 locations in 33 countries internationally. Get your reservation today and have fun on the road. For additional info please visit their site at

Health is Wealth

Mike went to the doctor yesterday and got a clean bill of health. The doctor said, "I wish I was as healthy as you." Mike doesn't like to go to the doctor because he feels he can get all the advantages of good health from visiting his swami friend, I forget his name. But once in a blue moon he'll go, just for the annual checkup. Today his blood pressure was so good the doctor called in the secretary and a colleague to show them the results. He was parading Mike through the office, and he told him, "You're one of the few people who are doing the right thing when it comes to diet and exercise." Mike goes to the gym almost every day and eats ten or more servings of vegetables per day. Sometimes he has a few fruits, but mostly he concentrates on leafy greens and cauliflower. His motto used to be A day without broccoli is a wasted day but he's been thinking of changing it to A day without cauliflower is a wasted day. He hasn't officially changed his motto because he feels that changing a motto is a big thing. But he now believes that cauliflower is even better for him than broccoli. In my opinion they're just about equal and they both taste equally great with olive oil or butter.

Big Bang Theory

How did the universe begin? Do you know what most mainstream scientists believe today? The big bang theory of the universe, which says that the entire universe originated about 16 billion years ago from an infinitesimal speck no bigger than an atom -- smaller even, and that it exploded out of this nothingness into being without any cause. Now, just stop and think about that for a minute. Where do they get these preposterous ideas? From fairy tales? There's nothing in experience in this theory. In other words, it's not based on experience because what do you know that originates out of nothing? Nothing.

There are some good alternatives to the big bang theory. One of the most interesting is the steady state theory, which says everything was always here to begin with. Then there's the plasma cosmology theory, which is even more plausible; it says all space is filled with plasma, and that it always was. That is similar to the steady state theory, but with an emphasis on the electrical nature of the plasma in the cosmos.

I love thinking about these things over a nice cup of tea or hot cocoa.

Food Shopping

I went food shopping last night with Kate. We departed from the house around 8:00 p.m. Kate was sleeping all the way to ShopRite. She never complained. It took me an hour there choosing our food. We went back home through the mall. I took a short cut through. It is really convenient because this food store is just at the back of the mall. I just cross once to the street and it's there.

Masterpiece Reproductions of Art

Don't be shy about admitting that you'd love to have a masterpiece of art on the wall of your living room or foyer. When guests arrive their jaw will drop with surprise and admiration. "How did you get this Van Gogh?" they'll ask. Or "How did you get your hands on this famous Monet masterpiece, The Port at Argenteuil (pictured here). I really love paintings. In fact, I visited some of the Art Museums here in New York City. And one of them is the Metropolitan Museum. They have a lot of famous paintings display. But all are very expensive. I know that the Met is one of the largest and most comprehensive art museums in the world. It is also a tourist attraction in the city. Well, for me, paintings are one of the most beautiful things to hang on the wall. It may be a little bit expensive but it’s worth it. But I found a web site today that is selling oil paintings which are exact reproductions from the masterpieces of art history – painted over and anew by contemporary artists, using the same oils and real paint that the original artist used. What’s the result of this? Very simple. It won’t look like you have a dull reproduction – a copy – on your wall. It will look like you just robbed the Louvre! It will be like the original, down to the last brush stroke and detail. And best of all it won’t break your bank. You’d expect to pay thousands for this service, especially in light of the fact that it’s done by real artists and not a machine. But the price is very affordable with many paintings even below $100 – and they have a huge of selection. Four your own oil reproductions visit today.

The Secret

I enjoyed watching The Secret - a new self-help documentary - last night. It's very informative and inspirational. I learned and discovered a lot of things about how to approach challenges in life. This movie is a very popular documentary. It is especially helpful for those people who are pessimistic. I bet they can change their life to become optimistic. And they will be grateful for everything that they have right now. Me, I'm starting to appreciate everything that I have despite adversity. That's the secret.

The Way to Drive More Traffic

As I was recently and enjoyably remembering back to my past, I realized that my life has taken some interesting and unexpected turns. For example, I am now a mother. I am in the United States. And I am also now a blogger. A professional blogger no less. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would become a blogger. Because when I was in a high school I hated writing my notes. I asked my seat mates to do a favor for me. They wrote my notes but on one condition. During examinations I let them copy all of my answers, except the essay writing. I was, and am, very good - for some reason - when it comes to examinations. And it worked good for me because whenever the teachers checked my notes I had my complete notes to show them. I never encountered any problem doing it. I successfully finished my high school with plenty of good memories behind. The moral of this story is simple. You never know where you're going to go in life, and you never know what you're going to be good at until you try.

Let's say, like me, you suddenly started blogging and found that you were good at it. Naturally you'll want to become even better to capitalize on a good thing. But what if you are a blogger, and don’t get enough traffic to your site? Well, maybe you have to consider registering your site at Zookoda. Zookoda is the way to drive more traffic into your site. It is an email marketing application designed specifically for bloggers. They enable you to send a daily, weekly or monthly summary of your latest blog posts directly into your visitor's inbox. Everyone that I know wears socks. Isn't that interesting? That means that everybody in the world (with the exception of - and who do you know who doesn't wear socks? Maybe some farmers in the Philippines or some Kalahari bushmen) and I mean everybody - wears socks. Now, if everyone can agree on the importance of socks, why, oh why, can't everyone agree on other things - such us the importance of peace on earth?

He got the killer smile. I really like him when I was in teenager.

2. Sean Connery:

Budapest apartments is one of the best ways to enjoy an exotic vacation in Europe without breaking the bank. Put more simply, this wonderful site can help you find economical accommodations in the historical city of Budapest. Falling Hair

Few days ago I noticed my hair start to fall out. I'm so worried about this. I don't want to be bald. I
should do more research about this problem. I can't afford to loss my hair or else I will look like a clown.

MAXXED Energy Pops

How'd you like to keep going when everyone else is fading in the dust? Well, now you can. Before I tell you how, let me ask whether you ever heard of Balzac? The great French author was extremely prolific. He sometimes wrote more than four novels a year. He stayed prolific to his death at a ripe old age. How did he do it? His secret was coffee -- very dark, thick coffee brewed in a special pot. Your secret is going to be much more effective and much healthier for you in the long run. The secret is called MAXXED Energy Pops and they're unique. What makes these pops so useful? The answer is they give you energy, the same kind of energy Balzac got from drinking pot after pot of coffee. These pops, however, have more than just caffeine. They also contain other things, and the full list of ingredients is as follows: sugar, corn starch, taurine, citric acid, propylene glycol, maltodextrin, artificial flavors, d-glucuronolactone, caffeine, hydrogenated soybean oil, turmeric coloring, niacinamide, panax ginseng, guarana, pyridoxine hydrochloride, d-calcium pantothenate, inositol, FD&C blue 1, and cyanocobalamin. You may wish to look up some of these ingredients on Google and the Internet before you consume them, but I’m sure you noticed caffeine in the list, right? Caffeine, as you know, is the main stimulant in coffee. Well, these pops have caffeine plus guarana, which is a stimulant from South America which itself contains caffeine along with a host of other chemicals. Enough said.

Restaurant Dinner

My in-laws were here yesterday, we decided to have dinner at the South City Grill Restaurant that is close to us. This restaurant is one of the favorites of Mike's dad. They always have a special for the day menu. And the best course to order is fish. Because that's their specialty. It's a little bit expensive though but it's worth it. Mike's dad had a whole grilled fish named branzini. He really loves this fish. Me and Mike had salmon with a side order of mixed vegetables. He had his veggies steamed. He refuses to eat anything fried. It's poison he says. (He can back this up with quotes from oil and fat expert Udo Erasmus.) His mom had grilled chicken and mashed potatoes. But, Kate had none. She was taking her nap there while we're eating. I couldn't even order my dessert, I got full quickly. I decided to go home and take it easy.

Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center

Do you love nature? Me, I’m crazy about it. In fact, I planted some tress and flowers when I was in the province with my mom. We had some very nice collections of lovely birds too. I had so much fun taking care of them. I checked and fed them before and after going to school. They were like my child because they needed my attention. But those were the days because I don't live there anymore. I miss those times when I think about them. However, I’m glad that I discovered this green site about Shangri La Botanical Gardens. Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center received the prestigious Green Building Council's Platinum certification for LEED®-NC, which verifies that the design and construction of Shangri La reached the highest green building and performance measures. Let me also mention the eco friendly nature and history of the Shangri La Gardens in Orange Tx. They have beautiful creatures and plenty of flowers. Their botanical garden features over 300 types of plants and a wide variety of wildlife. On every Tuesday and Friday they offer free educational tours of the botanical gardens and nature center. This is so much fun because visitors have a chance to learn about the unique ecosystem and can travel by pontoon boats and boardwalks going to the Nature Center. Plus, you can view thousands of birds nesting in Ruby Lake and also you can experience the beauty of the flora and fauna of the cypress/tupelo swamp. They will open a garden store soon. I would love to bring my family this coming summer. I’m sure they would like it too. How I wish I lived there in Orange, Texas, then it would be much closer for us to visit this wonderful place. Yes, there are some botanical gardens out here but they don’t have features like the green wildlife and nature at Shangri La Botanical Gardens. They are really amazing. Take care and preserving of nature is never been easy. Additional info just click here. See you there at Orange City, Texas!

My In-Laws

My in-laws have plans to visit us this coming Saturday. I know they both miss their granddaughter Kate. It's been awhile since we saw them. I don't know what kind of food to prepare for them. They like pasta and fish. But Mike's dad is now on a strict diet. He avoids foods that are sugary. I can't think of anything else but fish and vegetable salad. Well, let's see what else I can do on Saturday.

Cheap International Phone Cards Online

I communicate with my family by calling long distance twice a week since I got here. I think I’m here almost three years now, living in this country called the land of the free. And we can’t deny that the telephone bills are killing us. We always get bills that range between $200-$400 a month. Well, I also tried some phone cards before but I didn’t like them. The connection was terrible. So I stayed with the monthly bills. I know it’s a waste of money. But what can I do? I need to talk to my family once in a while or else they will get worried about me. I don’t have any relatives here except my husband and my baby, Kate. My mom wants to know everything that I am up too. So whenever I talk to her I give her all the details of my life. Despite the cost I need to share my life experiences with my family back home. Anyway, I just found out about a new Web-site that is selling a cheap international phone card. Their phone cards & calling cards are not only offering great voice quality but also great value! They provide the best international calling cards online. And they also have a huge selection of international phone cards. It is quick and easy to use. Plus, all their phone cards are delivered online instantly so you can make the call right away. Hmm...what a good deal, huh... Finally I can avoid spending so much money for long distance. I bet Uncle Ted will love to hear about this because he is the one paying for my calls. I can’t wait to try this by calling my mom. I’m so glad that I found this today. So get yours now and let's start saving up to 95%. To get additional information, just visit their Web-site at

Mike will fly again to Denver next week. He is the spokesperson for a big company. They're going to have him do some work in that city. He is also going to visit a few bookstores there. He loves books. I wish the weather will be nice there. Then they can all have a good time while staying there.

Stop Snoring

I remembered my father used to snore every night while he was sleeping. It was very annoying for both of us. And it was difficult for me and also for all of the family to get a good night's sleep. We heard him snoring even when we were in the next room. He snored very loud. He even used to get up in his sleep and walk. This sleepwalking isn't a joking matter, especially since he was not aware of what he was doing while sleepwalking. Often snoring leads to sleepwalking or is associated with it, so the entire thing was of concern. We tried to find medicine for him. But sad to say we couldn’t find any. Maybe there was no remedy at that time. We didn't have any idea how to stop him from snoring. But today inventors have discovered a cure for this problem. The snore wizard is the right remedy for those people who suffer from snoring. It reduces or eliminates the vibrations in the throat tissues that cause snoring, by moving the lower jaw slightly forward and improving the airflow. Made of high quality 'soft-feel' plastic, there is no special fitting required and you continue to breathe naturally through your mouth and nose. Plus, in the unlikely event that it doesn't work for you, just simply return it within 30 days and they will send you a full refund-without any questions asked. Stop Snoring and get a good night's sleep.

We Made It!

We successfully made our trip to the Filipino store yesterday. We got there by taxi around 7:00 p.m. I had one hour to shop before the store closed. I bought a durian, mangoes, rice, fish, bread, vegetables, dried squid, and some cooked food. We also went to the Fiesta Grill restaurant. I ate there. But Mike never eats there. He just watched me and the baby. Then we headed back home by taxi. We both don't drive that's why we don't have a car. But if we move out of the city, maybe that's the perfect time for me to take driving lessons. Right now I'm not interested; we have plenty of public transportation here, like subway, train, light rail, buses, taxis, and ferries. So we're in good shape.

Hazy Day

There was a big thunderstorm and lightning early today. The sun is hiding under the clouds. It didn't rain much though. But definitely, it is a hazy day. I couldn't even see New York City. It was fully covered by the fog. Usually, I can see the cars moving there by looking out the window. Anyway, the temperature is mild, we have the chance to enjoy this day.

Durian Fruit

Many people think that a durian is the most malodorous fruit in the world. Other say it smells like garbage. Yes, it does. But it doesn't bother me because I love eating this delicious fruit. In fact, when I was a child, I almost got hit by a durian that fell at my side. While I was standing under this fruit tree I heard the bang at my side. It was scary. My mom screamed, looking at me. Perhaps it was fate because we used to live in Compostela Davao Oriental. Our house was surrounded by the durian trees. Whenever the durian fruits fell I could hear it. I really miss eating durians. I know durians have good health benefits too, like other fruits. Maybe soon I will be able to buy one in the Filipino store.

Mother's Day

Mother’s day is now fast approaching again. Last year, since my mom was not here with me I celebrated mother’s day with my mother in-law. Me and hubby went to New York City to meet his mom at an Italian restaurant. We gave his mom a bunch of yellow roses. We know that her favorite flowers are geraniums. She really likes them. Obviously, giving a flowers to a mom is a very nice thing to do. This is one way of expressing your love toward her. No matter how far is the distance between you and your mom, you can still make her happy on the mother’s day by sending her flowers. There’s no women in this world that don’t like flowers. And the good thing is that there is an online site for flowers where we can place our own orders. has the best flower selection. They have stunning fresh bloom flowers that can be delivered express door to door through FedEx, UPS or DHL. They have a huge variety of different flowers. And they deliver the same day. Anyway, this site is not only for mother’s day. It’s also good for all occasions, like birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and more. Plus they have a "Celebrate Mom For Who She Is Contest." For additional information, please visit their website.

I'm so disappointed watching the Yankees baseball last night because the Yankees were losing 2 in a row versus the Kansas Royals. But tonight, they finally won. Alex Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera and Jorge Posada hit a solo home run. What a nice revenge ha... I really enjoyed watching them. They will fly back to New York City tomorrow and play the Boston Red Sox. I wish the best of luck to all of them. I know that they are the rival team. Hoping they will do a good job tomorrow.

Cell Phones

I know most of us today have their own cell phones. They make our life easier. We can receive calls and text on them. And also we can easily contact our friends and loved ones anytime we want. They're very light and portable. We can put them in our pocket or in a handbag. It seems that there are a lot of advantages in using them. But the truth is that they can cause brain damage. It's from the radiation. Maybe you have noticed that if you use it a lot, you can feel the heat coming from it. And that's something which, along with the microwave radiation, can give you a headache - or worse. But maybe you just ignore it because you didn't think that using this kind of technology could harm your brain. My only advice is that if you have to use a cell phone to talk, it's better to use an earphone or better yet the speaker phone, and put your cellphone on the table or anyplace that is a few feet away from you. Try to keep it out of your hand when you're talking in order to avoid the radiation. Find this hard to believe? Most people do, but a little reading on the Internet can really open your eyes. I highly recommend the book Cell Phones: Invisible Hazards in the Wireless Age: An Insider's Alarming Discoveries about Cancer and Genetic Damage by George Carlo.

Shine a Light

This is a movie about the Rolling Stones. Mike watched this movie today at IMAX New York City. He really enjoyed it. When he got home tonight he couldn't stop telling me what a good movie it was. He loves the Rolling Stones. They're one of his favorites bands. I didn't have a chance to go with him because my girlfriend was here visiting me. I had a nice chat with her. She held my baby, Kate, too. She is very experienced in handling babies because she works as a nanny. She's worked here almost 8 years. The good thing is we are neighbors. The condo apartment of her employer is the building next to us where we live now.

Hubby is very picky about selecting his toothpaste. He first reads the ingredients before buying it. He wants to avoid using toothpaste with fluoride. Because based on his research, fluoride is harmful for the body especially in the brain and, ironically, the teeth. So he advised me to stop using toothpaste with fluoride too. But sometimes I don't feel like using another brand of toothpaste. Plus, very few toothpaste manufacturers out there don't include fluoride as the main ingredient of their toothpaste. Anyway, I'm trying to avoid the best I could.

Note from Mike: If you think this is puzzling, it's probably because you haven't looked at the research. You probably think, "How could fluoride be harmful if my dentist recommends it?" But stop and ask yourself one question: Before Copernicus, the best scientists all believed the sun went around the earth, so is it possible that mainstream scientists and dentists today might be making a mistake? If you admit the possibility of mainstream scientists making an error, then you have an open mind. You may wish to Googe fluoride and harm and I think you'll be amazed.

Coconut Fruit

I used to climb the coconut tree to get the coconut fruit. My parents had planted plenty of them. Sometimes I used the coconut milk for my hair, like a conditioner shampoo. But the most fun thing to do is eating the fruit. It's so delicious. And as far as I know the juice is very good for you to drink if you have a urinary track infection or kidney stone. I really believe it because my neighbor had that problem before and it was cured. I think it helps clean the gall bladder and remove the toxins inside. Besides, coconut fruit is very nutritional. It is rich in fiber, minerals, and vitamins. Plus, every part of a coconut trees is useful. The body of this tree can be used for lumber, the twigs can be made into a broom, other parts can be used to make a basket, while the leaves are used for a roof and more.

What You Love The Most About Your Husband/Partner

I got this tag from Francine, thank you sis...

I love my husband because he is a good man. He helps people without asking any return. He loves to share the stories from the books that he is reading -- and he reads a lot (he buys about two or three books a week and reads them all, plus he borrows books from the library and reads them too). He takes care of himself by doing regular exercise and eating the proper food (plus he takes sixty-five supplements per day). He's always reading me love poetry before we go to sleep. I especially love the way that he's romantic and caring with me. He is the most optimistic person I've ever known. And last but not least, he always find a ways to comfort me whenever I feel blue.

I bought a box of mangoes from the Filipino store. They are one of my favorite fruits. Not only are they delicious but they're an excellent source of vitamin C, beta carotene, vitamin E and fiber. According to Barry Fox, Ph.D., in Foods to Heal By (St. Martin's 1996), with these four substances, mangoes "help to prevent cancers of the colon, rectum, pancreas, prostate, breast, cervix, stomach, and other parts of the body. Beta-carotene and vitamins C and E fight cancer in two ways. First, as antioxidants, they help control the oxidative changes that can turn normal cells cancerous. Second, the vitamins strengthen the immune system" (178). I think I'm going going to go have a mango right now. . . .

The Linker is Back

I was so glad when I noticed that my linker is working once again. I've been waiting for several days to come on. I thought that it's totally gone. So I decided to make a permanent blog roll. Because I was thinking that it's unfair to my friends if I will rely only to my linker. Now I don't have to worry if this linker will stop working again.

Terrible Headache

I had a terrible headache yesterday. Maybe because I didn't get enough sleep for the past few weeks. I just like to stay on the bed for the entire day. But I had to do some of my chores. Even though I didn't 't feel good I had to force myself to get up from the bed. Anyway I took some aspirin to relieve the pain.
