Vacation of a Lifetime
There are plenty of things to do in New York. I just want to share about my wildest vacation last year in New York because I'll never forget it. I had so much fun. First we went to the Central Park Zoo. I saw different kinds of animals there that I’ve never seen before. A big macaw was loose. It was flying overhead and two men from the aviary were running after it, trying to capture the bird with long butterfly nets. Of course the bird wasn’t cooperating. Flying overhead with its big blue wings outstretched like an eagle, and looking down at us with its piercing eyes, it seemed to be searching for some place to come in for a safe landing. Without telling anyone, I started to walk faster to try to dodge the wings and talons of this bird of prey. I had no intention of getting clawed or scraped by the sharp beak or attacked by the beast. I had recently seen Jurassic Park on television, and I was in no mood for being besieged by any animal, especially not by a bird. I have no great love for birds. My favorite animal is a pig, and that’s because the pig is an intelligent animal. But do you know where the expression birdbrain comes from? It refers to the small size of a bird’s thinking apparatus. And I believe birds are one of the least intelligent animals on the face of the earth. Everything they do they do from instinct. They never stop to consider their actions beforehand or plan what they’re going to do next. We were lucky to get out of the zoo alive, in my opinion. Next time I’m going to wear a big hat.
