Police in the Philippines say a Filipina television reporter and her crew who were abducted this weekend are alive and well.
The group, kidnapped in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao in the country’s south, are said to being treated fairly by their captors.
One reporter, Shirley Escalante, reports from Manila that the regional police director, Joel Goltiao, says television reporter Ces Drilon and her two crew members are being fed and are allowed to move around the camp where they are being held, but are escorted.
He says Ms. Drilon and her crew were traveling in Sulu province on Sunday to cover a story when they were intercepted by armed men believed to belong to the Abu Sayyaf.
Ms. Drilon and her crew were being guided by a Mindanao university professor when they were intercepted, and he has also been reported missing.
The men are said to be under Abu Sayyaf leader Albader Parad.
Police are also verifying reports that the armed group is asking for a $US223,000 ransom.
I hope and pray that they Abu Sayyaf will release them soon.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. It is the first time of my hubby to celebrate this occasion. I just gave him a little present, not an expensive one, lol. I don't want to spend my money buying other things that he doesn't like . Beside, I know what he wants, plenty of books. But I didn't buy one because I am sick and tired of seeing his books all over our place. We don't have big space to add more bookshelves. The funny thing is I couldn't stop him from buying books. Well, anyway, that's his happiness. I think he deserves a nice break today. I'm going to invite him to have a dinner tonight to his favorite restaurant. So, once again, happy father's day to my dear husband and to all the fathers around the world.

Boating Education is valuable and can save lives. Every Year alcohol is directly related to a substantial number of fatal boating accidents. In fact, one third of all fatal boating accidents nationwide are alcohol related. Operating a boat while impaired is just as dangerous and just as illegal as drinking while driving a car. The legal limit for blood alcohol is .08 in both cases. The penalties are similar, too; like driving under the influence, operating a boat under the influence is a Class One misdemeanor. A sober operator should be designated. Unlike driving regulations, most states do not require boaters to take education classes. Yet educated boaters are 70 percent less likely to be involved in a boating accident. Please find out more information here:
