Long Walk

We went to the hospital today for the therapy visit of Kate. We rode a taxi to get there. The therapy session required us to wait for almost three hours. Since we didn't eat our breakfast before leaving the house, I suggested to hubby to have a lunch at their cafeteria. After we ate our lunch, we both agreed to try to walk back home. We had a good time walking down the street. It's our first experienced to walk from the hospital going back home. It's fun! Kate was happy, too. She got a little sun and it's good for her to be outside in the fresh air. It took us 45 minutes to get home. We're not walking fast enough. I'm a little slow walker. That's why hubby keeps complaining about the way I walk. But I can't help it.

The Voice of Hunter S. Thompson

I have been reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, and I decided to go online and see if I could find any videos of him talking, and I was blown away by his persona when I found them because he talks in a very distinctive style, almost like a ventriloquist, and very fast. It is almost as if he is talking behind a bunch of working shower faucets.

I am Upset

This afternoon I was so upset because my charm bracelet broke. I was about to take a shower; so I removed it from my wrist. But it fell down on the floor and got broken. I felt sad. It was one of the most valuable things that I've had. It's not gold or diamond but it means a lot to me. Hubby said that he wants to buy another one that looks like it. He doesn't want to see that I got really depressed from it. Well, speaking of depression, if you have acne problems, maybe you have to try Acnexus the best treatments for acne.

Depressed Person

When Hunter S. Thompson put a gun to his face and pulled the trigger, he was 67 and depressed and at the time on the phone with his wife, who, four days before, he had given a suicide note saying something about not wanting to have lived much past 50. In fact he was a creative genius and lived a very hectic life, using drugs and alcohol to excess. My greatest surprise was seeing him on television today for the first time in some YouTube videos, such as his appearance on the Charlie Rose show. He talks in a funny voice, not humorous, just different, very fast, mumbling almost, but precise and thoughtful and self-assured. He went out like Hemingway. And Mishima.

I Have Read the Research

The best way to lose weight is not to cut the fat but the carbs. The diet that I have seen work time and again, and have read research about that is convincing is Atkins. The fear of Atkins is from the misunderstanding of the science. It is incorrect to say that dietary fat causes clogged arteries. It's just not the case. Carbs are the culprit because they operate to raise insulin levels, which in turn packs the fat into arteries. Cutting carbs reduces the risk of heart disease. Anyway, you have also an option to try alli.

Nasty Weather

It's been a week now that we experience this terrible weather. The rain keeps pouring day and night with a strong wind too. I think this is the side effect from the hurricane Ike. I really feel sorry for those people who were affected. I know how difficult it is to loss lives and homes. Well, life is unpredictable we don't really know what happens next. We have to be strong to face the daily circumstances in our life with God's faith.

The 5.11 Tactical Outdoors Web Site

Wearing 5.11 Tactical pants are highly recommended for outdoor lovers. Because it's not only high quality but it's also well designed. They have cargo pants with spacious cargo pockets that allow you to stow away extra magazines, handcuffs, a flashlight or any other gadgets. In fact, I am planning to get one for my hubby. Anyway, if you're also looking holsters maybe you have to consider to visit Galco Holsters . They have a wide selections like Premium saddle leather, Ballistic nylon, horsehide and more. Check this out today!

Entrecard Problem

I am going to a sanatorium in Switzerland, like the one described in Thomas Mann's The Magic Mountain. Let me explain why. Last night I noticed that the entrecard loaded very slow. It took me over an hour to drop the 200 cards. It's supposed to be less than an hour in which I can finish the 300 cards. I have 4 blogs to drop but I was annoyed. I can't spend my whole time working on it. So I said to myself that I will wake up early tomorrow to catch up. Unfortunately, it became worse because their connection had stopped working. Well, on the other hand it's good for me so that I can rest today from dropping. And I deserve it. My hands, shoulder, and my back are aching. I need to rest for sometime. So to my EC droppers here I apologize. I'll be back to you soon as soon as possible and the EC will start working. Have a wonderful weekend. Meanwhile, I'll be in the sanatorium recuperating, taking a walk in the mountains, getting psychoanalyzed and eating in a cafeteria with other sanatorium patients, many of whom are there for the rest cure. Personal Care Product for Men and Women

Many people harbor misconceptions about what can be done to reverse and slow the aging process. While aging is normal, radical new therapies, some of them untested and for which the long-range consequences are unknown, are being made available to the public. One of the newer entrants into this race to turn back the clock is Chantal Pharmaceuticals and their molecule ethocyn. Some research indicates that the compound blocks androgen receptors in the skin, including those for DHT. Androgens are known to make skin less elastic. There is some evidence that increased elasticity may result, but the dermatological community is still out on this one. Claims are being made, however, that the product can help people have better looking skin. If the theory is correct this could be a breakthrough product.

Why is it that pumpkins are very popular during Halloween. Do you have any idea? From what I know, pumpkins can be made into a pie. But I noticed most people make it into a decoration by carving it. In fact, there's a lot of pumpkins at Halloween that look like a skull. They make different shapes. They said it is easy to carve a pumpkin. Well, I guess so. You know what? I never tried to eat pumpkin in my whole life. I'm just curious what it tastes like. Maybe next time I will try the pie.

Bonnie and Clyde and Food

No criminal minds were ever more aware of the need for good cooking than Bonnie and Clyde. Lost to society, belonging to no family, no town, no social group, they had a little known fascination with food. Their final days were terrible, traveling from hotel to hotel in search of security, never able to sleep at night without the fear of being captured. But in their free moments they stopped robbing banks and spent their money in food markets and then cooked delicious seven-course meals on the road, including not a few casserole recipes.

Travels with Steinbeck

Over hill and dale in a Winnebago, from town to town across America, a great writer by the name of John Steinbeck traveled. With his dog, Charley, he went in search of America. He went in search of adventure, and he went in search of himself. And when he finally came to journey's end he had produced a book and made his mark once again on travel literature. He probably had no travel insurance.

The World's Top 5 Most Expensive Cities in 2008

Well, I was just wondering this morning what are the five most expensive cities to live in, all over the world. So I did my quick research to answer that question that was on my mind and had been on my mind all week. Then I found out this: five cities claim the title of being expensive, more expensive than any others, and this is the result of my research.

Here's the top 5 most expensive cities, listed in order from the most expensive (at the top) to the next most expensive, and so on.
  1. London
  2. Oslo
  3. Dublin
  4. Copenhagen
  5. New York
I would love to visit these cities if I have a chance, except for New York because I live so close to it. In fact, I can see the heart of Manhattan out our window. We're just across the Hudson River anyway. How I wish I can spend my vacation with family by cruise ship. Just dreaming, though. I should try to put this into effect as soon as possible.

The President of the United States and Congress have embarked on a strenuous and time-consuming attempt to bring bipartisan support for drastic and far-reaching changes to the under structure of corporate finance law and stocks and mutual funds and mortgage matters, all in reaction of an unexpected drop and surprising fluctuation in the financial market in the second quarter of 2008. Venice is always beautiful in the fall. This is a Venetian canal. The city of Venice is the home of the most pizza manufacturers in the world, 4,326 in total! There, pizza is king. But pizza is not the only thing the people in Venice like; pasta is also popular. The city of Venice is also known to be the location of three novels by Thomas Mann, including Death in Venice, his masterwork. The Thomas Mann novel that I like best is The Magic Mountain. Set in Switzerland, it traces the adventures of young Hans Castorp, who comes to visit his brother and winds up staying for treatment himself.

Old Yankee Stadium Closed

Last Sunday, Yankee Stadium was officially closed after the game. The tickets were sold out earlier. The Yankee have thousands of fans around the world. They won 26 World Championships during their stellar career. That's why they got very famous. I sometimes watch their classic baseball games. I want to get familiar with the players. I know Babe Ruth, that's one of the famous home run players. I also like Jeter and Arod. They all are entertaining. But my favorite is George Steinbrenner, the billionaire owner of the team.

Great Professional Fashion for Men

There is nothing more important than for the fashion conscious man to come to the realization that he is making a mistake if he thinks he can go through life and be a success, a true and complete success, in an 'off the rack' suit. Have you ever seen a well dressed man? The fact is that there are very few well dressed men these days and that's because of the laziness and sloppiness of the current trend in buying these ready-made (really ready unmade) suits. The true connoisseur of clothes buys made 'to order' or tailored suits. But, of course, the major objection is cost. Well, worry no more! Here we have Made to Measure suits which will provide you with an experience of a lifetime. My friend Frank took advantage of the opportunity to drop in to the center in the heart of Manhattan and he had a wonderful experience. In my opinion a gray chalk stripe suit is ideal for this guy, and that's just what he ordered. He told me that from the moment he stepped through those doors he was treated like royalty, and yet it didn't put that big a dent in his pocketbook. They had a consultant answer all his questions and then he was shown swatches of fabrics that he could choose from and then a series of many measurements were taken of him, from trousers to jacket sleeves, and all the rest. Treat yourself to the best. Make an appointment to be measured today or just visit their store located at 1270 Broadway (at 33rd Street) New York, NY. I'm sure you will look like a gentleman tomorrow.

Junk Food

I feel today that I am craving junk foods. So, I went to the supermarket across the street this afternoon. I found chippy on the aisle. I just grabbed one. It's been a long time since I ate chippy. I guess it was five years ago when I last had it. Well, now I'm having it while I'm writing this post. The hubby is against it but it's just once in a blue moon. Tastes great!

I Am Going to LifeThyme

LifeThyme Market is where I am going today. It is Monday and I hope to be there before 6:00 PM but it is hard to predict with all the traffic and the long wait for the X10 bus out of Staten Island. When I get there I will buy oil and vinegar and oregano and ginger and turmeric and yogurt and cod liver oil and coconut oil and cocoa. There might be a few other things I buy as well. But the most important thing is to get there before it gets too late. I wish I could stop on the way at the Barnes and Noble but they don't have a book I'm looking for in the mass market edition, which is what I wanted. Next week I have off, and I'm looking forward to that. I had a good day today and I'm looking forward to a good day tomorrow also. We talked about interesting things today.

Are You a Victim of Identity Theft?

You know that the most important thing in your financial world is your credit history and your credit score, which is tabulated every time you make a payment, pay a credit card debt, or make one of those Macy's or Sears' payments on your credit cards. That history goes into a log which is kept for seven years and reflects either poorly or well upon you, the consumer. The credit history is not just something that appears in a book, however, it is something that has real implications in the real world and it is something that you want to pay especial attention to as you move toward buying your first home, or a car for that matter. There is a big problem if you miss a payment or make a late payment over 30 days late because it will go on your record like a black mark and never come off (at least not for seven years). What can you do to fix the situation? Now there's hope because you have the absolute right to see and study your credit report, by law. The Fair Credit Reporting Act mandates that the consumer is king and can even correct an error in the report. But what a hassel it is to do that! You could do it yourself, but here's a Web site that offers a free opportunity to review your material. Credit Card Lawyers will either correct your report for you or sue the agency that put the false mark there. Contact them today to start setting things right. You'll be glad you did.

Lucky Girl "Charice"

What a lucky girl! She finally did sing with Celine Deon last Tuesday at Madison Square Garden in NY. We were planning last week to go there but unfortunately we didn't make it. I think she is really destined to be a star. She is so young for this accomplishment. I know that she will become more famous after this show. Maybe plenty of managers will line up to get her. Well, I'm so proud of her for the greatest achievement of her career. Good luck, Charice! I wish you all the best.

My husband is always going to the gym to maintain his physical health. And I didn't complain about it because I know that doing exercise every day is a big help to our physical system. Sometimes he tells me that he goes on the treadmill for twenty minutes. Well, it doesn't bother me, he can do whatever he wants; even if he will spend 2 hours or more. Once in awhile he will convince me to go in the gym too. I keep resisting because the truth is I don't have enough time to spend there. It's just a waste of money if I will be a member and then I can't go.

Sleep Schedule Totally Ruined

It's been months that I have been sleep deprived. I always try to go to sleep early but I couldn't make it. There's s a lot of things that I have to do first before I can hit the bed. By the time that I am finished it's late already. I feel that I am more stressed here in the U.S compared to in my own country. I don't think it's part of the adjustment of the society and the culture. I am already 3 years and 4 months here since I arrived. Anyway, it's better to check this online trading before I close the night up.

Goodbye Summer Welcome Fall

A few days from now it will fall . I can feel it's getting colder too, especially today. The full moon will come back as soon as it is fall. Witches and goblins will soon be scampering about, in their halloween costume; spider man, invisible girls, Green Lanterns, batmen, atoms, Captain America, Snow White, and the seven dwarfs. This is what summer means to me. And this is what the fall has come to me and my entire flock of babbling nabobs; or, to put it another way the semi concious legends who inhabit this less than habitable habitation. The moon is sailing over the icy pond under which is the frozen body of a witch. This halloween I may not even open my door.

Lovely Wholesale Beads up to 30% Off

Janice was going to start a new business. She lived in a shell-shocked hut on the edge of town, working in her mother's dairy farm, but as of August 2007 she decided that her lifelong love of jewelry would lead to a nice career. She spruced up the little cabin where she and Melvin eked out a meager existence raising corn husks, and she sold her cows, and opened up a bead shop. Before long she was selling more beads than you can shake a stick at. Put another way, she was a successful retailer. People flocked to her shop from miles around, and Janice started to worry she wouldn't be able to get enough beads to fill the demand. And demand grew over the winter of 2007 and into the first quarter of 2008, so that she finally was delighted to discover wholesale beads. The company, Beads of Cambay, has one of the finest selections of quality gemstones and beads, including rubies, pearls, and more. They are one of the top wholesale bead suppliers. Plus, they offer discounts of up to 30% on a wide range of “high quality” gemstone beads and freshwater pearls. They know beads, and they helped Janice and her business get the supplies they needed to compete, not only with the local folks down in her farmstand area, but also on the Internet and through mail order. Try the wholesale gemstone beads today.

Avocado Fruit

We have plenty of ripe avocados in our refrigerator. The parents of my hubby brought them for us the other day. It's very rare that we eat them because hubby is not used to them. Although I like avocado it's not the best fruit for me. I just like it when it is made in a shake or ice candy. My mother planted avocado tree in our backyard back home. We used to climb it to get the fruits. We had so much fun eating it mixed with the condensed milk. I really love those days. Well, anyway, according to the researchers avocado has a lot of health benefits.

Wake Up Call

My older brother called me early today. He is worried about our eldest brother in Dubai. As far as you know from what I wrote earlier, my eldest brother has a tourist visa for three months in Dubai. While he is there at the same time he is searching for a job. Unfortunately, he didn't get the job that he wanted. There's an employer that wants to give him a working visa for the construction field. We're not happy to hear about it. So my family have decided to send him back home. I talked to him the other day about this matter. He's very confused, about staying there or going back home. I gave him extra time to think some more about it. He was very depressed when he got there. His wife promised him before that as soon as he got there, he could work right away. She said that there's a waiting job for him already, there's no need to apply. My eldest brother believed her and everything she said because she is almost six years now working in that country. But it's a big frustration. The truth is there's no waiting job for him. He needs to apply first. The problem is it's the Ramadan season and his tourist visa will going to expire soon. I do hope that he will not get confused of making his new decision.

Digital Makeover

Let's admit that the road from the Middle Ages to the Industrial Revolution took over five centuries. The road from the Industrial Revolution to the Digital Age took less than one. The rate of advancement and scientific growth is exponential, and by all accounts we will be leapfrogging into the far future before long and leaving everyone and everything that we know today behind in the dust. This is the message and this is the theme of: Roxio Extreme Digital Makeover. They want to give a helping hand to those of us who are lost in the dust, and they wish to show how to approach the next millennium with a good understanding of technology and how it can impact our lives. Their Wedding Day Crunch show, for example, is a good example of how to make technology function to your advantage even when planning a traditional wedding. You can watch their video on their site and enter a contest to be featured on the show or win prizes.

Nothing says the lark on a moonless night; nothing seems the same when the moon is full. Nothing can compare to the look of a blue moon. Nothing can equal the majesty of the Moon in flight from the horizon to the top of the sky, the sailing moon, the moon that smiles beatifically down upon the earth, the moon that cries out for princes and paupers alike to sing its praises. O Moon! that rises in the night to bespeckle the dusty sands of deserts and beaches, listen to the men who plan to climb thy icy crags. O Moon, that rides out the waves of time, not moved but immutable and immortal. O Moon and monster of the sky!

Holiday Photo Cards

How many times did I send holiday cards, especially Christmas cards or any holiday photo cards and fail to do what a true creative spirit would do; namely, to create and design the card myself. How many times did I skip the step that involves creative thinking and opt instead to simply use a store bought card and a store bought greeting and send that instead of using my own talents and abilities to create my own unique and creative greeting card! Oh, heavens above, I can't count the times I skipped that step and took the easy path. But no more! Now I have a way, and I wish to share it with you; a way to express myself and at the same time create greetings that I can be proud of. You, too, can take advantage of this opportunity to create your own images and designs and upload them to the Web site and then get your unique holdiay card printed and rush sipped to you for distribution to all your family and friends this Christmas or any other holiday you'd like to send cards. Your coupon code is XmasFree for ten complimentary holiday cards. My first design for Chritmas will feature a wood engraving of Charles Dickens alongside two of his most famous characters: Scrooge and Tiny Tim. Can't wait to send these out!

Shopping Cart

My in-laws just gave us a shopping cart yesterday. (You can see it pictured here.) They visit us twice a month. They are always thinking of what we need. They are very kind and nice to us and have been ever since I met them. They are close to perfect for me from my own point of view. Maybe I'm just lucky to have in-laws like them. I hope that the Almighty God will give them a good health always. Anyway, they are now both on the Atkins diet. They're so happy because they already lost ten pounds each from it. They said that the Atkins diet is very effective.

Customized Greeting Cards

I am a big fan of sending holiday cards;--it's a family tradition in my family, it's a welcome relief from the mass of junk mail people usually receive, and it adds a note of humor, love, and affection to the day of the person who receives the card. For this reason I was delighted to find out about a new family-oriented card company that offers tastefully designed and professionally ghost-written Personalized Holiday cards for every occasion. Why, there's no need for you to think anymore, no need for you to sweat and labor over personal messages, no need to try to write your own heartfelt poem or message. Simply scrawl your John Hancock on the bottom of this ready-made card and drop it in the mail and you'll fulfill all your holiday obligations to wish people well and to bring others good cheer. This company is now proud to announce that it plans to donate 180,000 cards to the organization called Soldiers’ Angels so that these cards can be sent as a gift to soldiers. The Soldiers’ Angels motto, “May no soldier go unloved” is a sub rosa glorification of war and all the men who fight in wars, and I don't say this in any way to criticize the organization for they are doing admirable work in keeping our troops inspired, honored, and remembered. This card site could be used to send your own personalized greeting cards, and I would use the museum cards, which are all tastefully done.

Scary Thought

I was scared this morning when I saw the pillow of Kate that it's on the top of her face. I quickly pulled out the pillow. I was very nervous. I thought something happen to her. Thank God, that she was fine. Now, I get confused whether if it is right for her to use a pillow or not. I want to be double careful of what I am doing. I don't want to harm her. She is my life and everything. I love her so much more than I love myself. I know it's normal for a mother to feel like this. Well, I'm hoping for the best of her.

Internet Marketing Via Lists

There are so many ways to make money on the Internet these days that people are wondering which one they should choose;--should I sell products? or services? or perhaps try to get a list of names and then start selling to the list? If you know anything about the Internet, the one thing you know is that the list is the secret; which simply means that anyone who enters your Web site and leaves is a customer lost, but if you can capture his name and email then you have a potential customer for life. Want to know more about this tremendous money-making approach to Internet marketing? Then check out this Web site all about The ListBuilding Club and see what they have to offer to you, the prospective new Internet entrepreneur. The site will introduce you, first of all, to some of their snazzy videos which will orient you to the whole thrill of using a list to make your mark. Listen, if you don't know what a list is, they'll even help you with that,--I mean an Internet marketing list, of course (everyone knows what a list is). The Internet tool, commonly bandied about as a "list," is simply a record of every email address from the people who visit your site and "opt in" or enter their email in the form (also sometimes called a "squeeze page") on your nifty little site. They say that a good Internet marketer makes at least two dollars for every name on the list each year. Which means if you get 5,000 names you should be making $10,000 a year. The more names you get, the more you should earn. So, find out more by checking them out today. Then let me know how you liked it.

Busy Sunday

I was quite busy today because I was helping my hubby to finish the tax of 2007. I'm trying my best to work as fast as I can but I got disappointed. We can't expect me to finish this in one day. It takes a few days I think to finish the whole thing. I am dealing with a lot of numbers and it's quite confusing to me because it's not my handwriting. I have to put the receipts in order. It's kind of annoying too because there's plenty of them. I have to write down every single one of them and check if it is paid by this or that credit card. How do you like my job? It gives me a headache. Plus, I have a baby to take care of. It's difficult for me to work straight without being bothered. But in some ways I'm like Kafka, working a tedious job and living through my blog in a realm of fantasy. I'm going to continue reading "The Burrow" latter, a Kafka story.

I just started eating anchovies a few weeks ago. First I didn't have any idea of what they taste like. It's not really appealing to me. So one day, when I was at the restaurant my mother-in-law introduced me to this food. With respect to her I tried one piece of it. I was amazed because it tastes like salted fish (ginamos). I said to myself, Now I'm not ignorant about this food. I think anchovies is an Italian dish. Anyway, I bought two bottles of anchovies yesterday. I recooked it. I put it in the frying pan and put in some spices, like tomato, onion and scallion. Tastes great! yum, yum. It gives me more appetite.

My Vacation Plans

Now when I try to follow in the footsteps of the great Knut Hamsun, the peripatetic Norwegian novelist and Nobel Prize winner, who traveled hither and thither from Scandinavia to the United States numerous times, I always consider the importance of Vegas vacations. Nothing says comfort like the life in this town, a place where you can relax by day and play by night, 365 days a year.

Home Crafts

We are a family blog, focusing on the home environment, and as such, we are today offering up to our readers an amalgam of advice and how-to directives for making what is called a craft fair. To make your own craft fair at home you will need the following ingredients:
  • Dough
  • Plastic ribbons
  • Thumb tacks (5 or more)
  • Eggs and celery sticks boiled
  • Seventeen toothpicks soaked in juice
  • Four or more motor parts from a toy
  • Sixteen lemon skins cut into little stars
With this material assembled, you will then clear a big factory size table and spread out the dough and the plastic ribbons. Then you can sprinkle the thumb tacks upon this mess and add the eggs and celery sticks that have been previously boiled. For more family fun, stick the seventeen toothpicks into the mess and add the four or more motor parts from a toy so that the mixture begins to look like a collage or montage from a German expressionist film that has been decayed by overplaying. Finally add the sixteen lemon skins cut into little stars. This family fun project is fun for not only the entire family but also for friends and neighbors. So be sure to invte your friends to help you enjoy this task.

Today is a very sad memory for the family of victims of 9/11. I couldn't imagine the day when the twin tower collapsed. It was really devastating and a nightmare for the people who work and live in this area. My hubby had watched the entire happening of that day because he used to live in New York City before. He was shocked at what he saw. So he went home and decided to stay home for a while. After the tragedy, he moved to Jersey City. It's a place with less people compared to New York City. Right here in our place we can still see the Big Apple across the Hudson River. Anyway, let us pray for those people who died on 9/11. I hope that they can rest in peace.

Men’s Professional Fashion

The first thing to keep in mind is that ever since my husband was in college he has wanted a Made to measure suit, that is, a suit tailored exactly to his own dimensions. Why he wanted this will become clear once you know that he read John T. Molloy's book Dress for Success. In it he explains that the best suits are those which are carefully fitted to you, and he advises going to the tailor and giving him a tip to start. Then he advises going back and making sure it was altered correctly. So, my husband always does this at the best stores, like Brooks Brothers and Joseph Bank. But he never had a tailor-made suit from scratch because the price is too expensive. Luckily we just found a place that makes the suits for you at a fraction of the cost. It's called Made to Measure and it's right in the heart of New York City, right near Macy's, so you can't miss it. Let me tell you about his experience and how easy it all was. Now, remember, that he's the type of guy who gets his mens’ suit altered all the time, so he's used to dealing with tailors. In fact, his great grandfather was a tailor from Italy, and he (my husband) knows a lot about how to alter clothes, although he never does it because he doesn't have the skill. The point is that he is a knowledgeable consumer when it comes to alterations and he walked into the experience with his eyes open and knowing what to look for. These guys passed the test. The tailor was very professional, the staff was too. The measurements took only a few minutes and he was also allowed to browse through fabric examples and select the one he liked. They answered all his questions and assured him they would get it right the first time. He knew better. You must always go back for the second fitting to check that the back of the jacket is smooth over your back and that the sleeves are the right length. I highly recommend getting your custom suit appointment today at

Grilled Chicken

Most every day hubby has grilled chicken for his brunch. We always buy it in the supermarket in the "ready to eat" section. Every afternoon I put one piece in the oven to heat it up. Then after ten minutes I pull it out from the oven to put cheese on top of it and put it back for one minute until the cheese is melted. He loves cheese so much. Our refrigerator has a lot of cheese. It started when he began following the Atkins diet. It's a little bit funny because he's thin and he still wants to loose weight. Maybe he wants to look like a skeleton. I admit sometimes I get annoyed because I couldn't imagine why he still wants to loose weight. In my opinion he's underweight.... I hope that he knows what he's doing. [Note from Mike: I'm primarily following Atkins for the health advantages of the diet since a high fat and protein diet (with ample veggies and some fruit) has been shown to improve triglyceride levels and prevent heart disease, stroke and diabetes.]

New Friend

I went shopping again today with my girlfriend. Before we got to the mall, we stopped by at the festival in our town square. They had some shows going on up on a stage. One of them was a Philippines cultural dance. It was amazing that there are still a few Filipino here sharing their talents. I am proud of them. Anyway, after that we headed to the mall. Actually, we love shopping in Macy's, a great store. So, we went there. I purchased one blouse using my Macy's card. I used also my coupon to avail myself of some discounts. Right at the counter I met my new friend. I let her use my coupon, then we started chatting and became better friends. Well it is easy for me to trust her because she is the friend of my close friend. She had two kids with her. They accompanied me when we went home. Kate was very happy, for the first time she had a playmate. They stayed less than an hour in our apartment. Her kids had fun playing with the toys that we have. They also played with Kate too. I think they had a great time. Unexpected. But fun.

Use Reverse Phone Number Search

They think it's funny. "Hello, this is the Daily News..." "Hello, this is such and such corporation..." "Hello, would you like to take a survey?..." I just hang up on them and before I do I tell them to take my name off their call lists. You have a right to do that and they must comply. Then I hang up. But now there's a better way. With the reverse phone lookup service of you can actually find U.S. and Canadian people and companies just from the phone number that displays in your Caller ID when they make those mysterious and annoying calls to you. And reverse phone lookup is fun to use!

Belly Casts

Looking forward to having a baby is part of the joy of motherhood, and so is the attention you'll get when you're pregnant. But what happens when the baby is born and all that attention is deflected away from you and onto the baby? You might feel neglected or even depressed. Well, now there's a way to preserve some of the fun you had (come on, you know some of it was fun) when you were the star of the show, and at the same time get back some of the attention that was focused on you and you alone. The answer is a belly cast. Created by a skilled artist who has done many of them for satisfied mothers, the belly cast (see photo) preserves a three-dimensional image of your belly at the time of pregnancy. More vivid than a photo, more memorable than an audio recording, the belly cast is both artistic and a perfect gift to yourself. There's also no doubt that your child will be fascinated, when he grows up, to see where he was. For more info, visit the Casting Moments.

Happy Weekend

It's the weekend again, a great Saturday. It's time to relax and get some rest from the busy weekdays. But for me, I'm still busy here doing my house chores. I have to do our laundry and clean our house later today. And also I'm going to send money back home for my mother. And do a little bit of shopping too because Macy's is having a one day sale today. I hope I can find stuff that I like at a reasonable price. My favorite way to relax is to shop. Later I will shop at the mall and hope to enjoy the experience as I usually do. Just thinking about it gets me revved up.

Systemic enzymes | Medizym

Systemic enzymes are also known as proteolytic systemic oral enzymes. But don't let the big name frighten you. This is a simple digestive aid with many attendant health benefits. For example, the ingredients in this product, also known by the trade name of the systematic enzyme Medizym, are benign. Its constituents are some of the most commonly found digestive aids, like pancreatin, papain, and bromelain, along with trypsin, chymotrypsin, and rutosid (one of the most prevalent forms of quercetin, which is found in apples). These oral enzymes in Medizym® aid and assist in many living chemical reactions and processes in the body. They are especially important for the wellbeing of the immune system and in preventing inflammatory responses. Recently researchers at the Institute of Cancer Research, University of Vienna, Borschkegasse, found that "oral therapy with proteolytic enzymes decreases excessive TGF-ß levels in human blood." This means better health because excessive transforming growth factor-ß (TGF-ß) production is associated with numerous disease conditions. In fact over a thousand publiched peer reviewed clinical studies have revealed that these digestive enzymes confer real health benefits to those who use them on a regular or part-time basis. In the real world the only thing that one needs to know is what to eat and what to take as far as supplements are concerned. This is one that gets two thumbs up.

Inuflora intestinal health sells Inuflora for intestinal health. The term intestinal health refers to the fact that biological organisms inhabit the large and small intestines. When these flora are disturbed or proliferate, deleterious conditions and results can eventually take their toll on health. The readers of this blog know that on our health blog we stress the necessity of good nutrition. Well, the fact is that nutrition alone cannot always combat the problems that intestinal flora pose. This is why nutritionists routinely recommend that as part of a balanced diet a probiotic be taken to normalize the acid pH and the intestinal system. Prebiotics, like probiotics, work to increase the count of bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria. Prebiotics consist primarily or exclusively of fiber and provide a nutrient dense base of complex and simple foods for the beneficial bacteria in the colon and intestinal system, therefore making them one of the most useful supplements. Inulin, derived from artichokes, is one of the constituents of this product. As many know inulin is also added to stevia to aid digestion and boost so-called good bacteria. The product also contains a useful combination of both the short-, medium- and long-chain inulin molecules, which means the product is similar in many ways to the best Tropical oils, which also contain a mix of fats. Naturally, however, this product is not an oil. The tremendous advantage a prebiotic can give a living organism cannot be overemphasized.

The Andy Griffith Show

Here's a clip from the Andy Griffith Show. This program entertained generations of baby boomers, including yours truly. In fact, the show was J.D. Salinger's favorite TV program. The mild-mannered sheriff and his bumbling sidekick, Barney, were the perfect comic duo. I still watch reruns of the show and get a laugh and a sense of nostalgia when I do. Probably it is the most loved evening sitcom in the history of 50's television.

Very Slow Day

Today is one of the slowest days for the opps ever. Since this morning I tried to watch triple P to see when they would release their opps but I was disappointed. I don't really know what's happening. Maybe it's just a slow week for me. Hmmm, maybe politics is to blame. Maybe the fact that this is the week for political conventions means that more people are paying attention to politics and less to blogs. Can't really say, but it might be the answer. Anyway, I hope that I can be qualified for some opps tomorrow. If not, I will pick up reading War and Peace, one of my favorite novels.

Birthday Party

Our friend's birthday party started at our place and then moved to the boardwalk along the Hudson, where we took photos and enjoyed the sun. Here is the birthday girl hoisted into the air by her weightlifting boyfriend who can bench press 325 lbs and keep smiling. Both look like they're having fun. (Photo: Michael Christian.)

Barack Obama Window Stickers

Giant Obama Bumper Stickers. That is what are available. These are large so-called "see-through" window stickers, but you will want to place them in a spot that will not obstruct your vision through the rear-view window, especially as anything that could potentially diminish visual acuity could result in diminished driving competence. "Now is our time" is the battle cry of Obama and his supporters as we near the November contest. "Change We Can Believe In" is another slogan they hope will win the election. Certainly those who support the candidate will want to have one of these oversize stickers either for mounting on your vehicle (especially vehicles that are not commissioned for passenger use) or conceivably even in your playroom, kitchen or study, where the sticker is sure to enliven the view from any window with a political nostrum that will be more frequently heard as we approach voting day.
