There is nothing a family blog can do to prevent loss of family valuables . . . except give you advice. What you do with that advice is up to you. But we know that family heirlooms and priceless treasures cannot be replaced, which is why we recommend home insurance. True, insurance may not bring back those pictures of grandma or that set of silverware or her wonderful pearl necklace . . . but when you receive $500,000 or a similar substantial amount, you'll certainly be able to deal with the loss in a more relaxed frame of mind.
