Friends Visits

Our friends John and Angie and their baby Casey visited us today. Actually, their destination was Pennsylvania. They just made a pit stop for lunch here. I prepared some food for them, like fish, vegetables, salad, mongo soup, and pasta. We had a good time chatting with them. It's been awhile since we saw them. I think the last time that we saw them was my baby shower. How I wish they lived closer to us! It takes almost 4 hours for them to drive here. They live in Connecticut. It is farther away than they used to live before. So I took some picture of our babies with their dads.

Easter Dinner

We went to the Bertucci's Brick Oven Ristorante, a nice Italian restaurant, for our easter dinner. I had mussels for my appetizer, and grilled chicken with mashed potato and broccoli for my main dish. My drink was orange juice. I got so full very fast just from the appetizer, so I decided to wrap the chicken and the mashed potatoes and take them home. Mike had asparagus, a salad, and a large pizza, and he ate everything they brought him. But I saw him throwing away some crust. No wonder there's nothing left. I knew that he had a craving for pizza because he was talking about it for almost a week. And he kept resisting because of his diet. But recently he started eating pizza. He found out a supplement that helps to fight the msg. Now he is happy.

The supplement he's talking about is vitamin E, specifically the tocotrienol fraction of vitamin E. He buy this supplement (tocotrienols) in three forms: Swanson's Full Spectrum vitamin E, Toco-8 from primordial performance, and Palm Oil from Africa. You may find it hard to believe, but the research on tocotrienols is almost miraculous. Google the word tocotrienols to read the latest.

Mice and Mouse

It's been a long while that I was thinking about buying a mouse for my laptop computer. But I didn't have a chance to do it because I was reading a long novel by Charles Dickens. I keep forgetting when I went shopping. But today, hubby bought a mouse for me. Maybe he was tired of hearing me every day, complaining that my fingers were aching from tapping the laptop. I was so happy when I tried it tonight. It really works great. Now I can get back to that novel. By the way, it's Bleak House. Heck of a book. You know, Nabokov loved that novel.

Hubby's New Friends

My husband came home with a new friend of ours, Sapra. He's a guru. He wears a white robe, I'm not sure what you call it, and he speaks with a heavy Indian accent. He's from Calcutta and he's been in the U.S. more than fifteen years. He's sixty-six years old and has white hair and a tanned face with strong handsome features. He told us that he's working on opening a new meditation center. Then he taught us to sing a song that his yogi taught him in India. It was a very beautiful song, but quite short. When he left, my husband said, "Let's order some Chinese food." We did and it arrived so fast we could not believe it. I had lo mein and he had chow mein and broccoli. He's crazy about broccoli.

My Opps

I reserved one of my opps this afternoon. The reservation expiration was 7:00 p.m. So before that exact time I was able to finish it. And I followed their requirements. But unfortunately, when I was going to submit my review they didn't accept it because it said that I don't have my reservation. How's that possible? I was so confused until now it's still bothering me and wondering why?

Lamp

We are planning to get a lamp this coming weekend because one of our lamps was broken a few months ago. Now I am suffering here at my desk, in a spot that is dark and gloomy, in a place that seems to have fallen out of and away from all earthly illumination, in a place my neighbor shun and my baby's fears, wailing incessantly when she is brought clothes to this dark dismal desk.

My Linker Widget

I am so annoyed at this linker widget. It goes on and off. Now I can't view my friends' blogs. I have to wait for this linker to work again. Next time I will transfer my friends' lists into my new created linker box. I learned my lesson from this. I should not rely on it. I noticed in the past few weeks that there was a problem with this widget. But I just ignored it. Now it's too late to regret. I'm wishing that this widget will start working tomorrow or else I'll have to guess who are those guys linking back to me.

Lucky Day

I think it's my lucky day today. Because I'm able to finish my writing even though I had a lot of interruptions with Kate. I admit that I am a slow writer compared to other bloggers. I'm just learning, though. Little by little I see some of my accomplishments. And I'm proud of what I've done. First I thought that I couldn't do it. I don't have enough confident about writing. I am afraid about my grammar. Sometimes I can't deny that I have some hesitation too, wondering whether I phrase things right. I don't want my readers to make fun of me and criticize my grammar. That's why I'm so careful and review what I write before I make my post.

Breakfast

I had a very light breakfast this morning. I had one slice of bread and a cup of tea. I didn't feel like eating a lot. I just kept drinking tea the rest of the day. I didn't eat lunch either. From what I know, drinking tea is good for the brain. Most people don't realize that. Why is it good for the brain? The answer is it contains an amino acid called theanine. Theanine increases dopamine, which is a brain chemical that makes you feel very good.

Sore Throat

Hubby is still suffering from his sore throat. I told him to gargle with warm water and salt. But he didn't listen to me because he strongly believes that taking more vitamin C pills can cure him right away. I know that he is right in taking those pills but he should not rely in it as the only remedy. Yesterday I suggested that he chew some Ricola cough drops. It worked for me before when I had my sore throat. It is a good pain reliever for a sore throat. Anyway, I do hope that this time he will do what I say in order to get a rid of this virus. But even as I'm writing this I see him taking more vitamin C plus echinacea and Ginkgo, another of his favorites.

Too Sleepy

Kate was wide awake around 7:00 a.m. this morning. I heard her screaming in the crib. So I got up and checked her but I was too sleepy. I could hardly walk, I felt I was floating in the air. I knew that she wanted her milk. But I couldn't help myself, I went back to sleep after she stopped screaming. I just gave her the pacifier in the meantime. Then I finally woke up after a one hour nap. I warmed her milk and gave it to her. And she was happy.

Kate with Her Dad

Look at this great relationship. Because there aren't many like it. Lucky two! They're in a restaurant. Both are them are smiling because they just ate their meals. I'm taking this photograph which is why you don't see me. The restaurant was a little bit empty because it was late though. We got there almost 10:00 p.m. They're about to close but they still allowed us to order anyway. It was just a quick dinner. And later we went out for a walk in the rain. What a pleasant day we had.

Video Camera

I just bought a video camera yesterday. And when Mike saw it he didn't like it because it features DVD recording not tape. He prefers MiniDV tape. But I don't care. He wanted me to fix his old video cam instead of buying a new one. I didn't agree with that suggestion. Why I should I? He already sent that camera before to the repair shop but it still didn't work. He didn't send it to Sony, however. That's what he should have done. Sometimes you have to go to the source.

What a baby

Kate has two teeth now at the bottom. They're growing fast and very sharp. I am just worried about her sometimes because she is still sucking her fingers. And I noticed yesterday that she bit one of her finger and it's bleeding. I couldn't even figure out what to do to prevent her from sucking her fingers. I gave her a teething ring and pacifier but it will not hold onto her mouth. I had to hold it. And you know that's not the only thing that I have to do for the rest of the day. I have plenty of work too. Whenever her pacifier falls, she cries. It never ends...

Carpal Tunnel

I am sick and tired of dealing with my carpal tunnel syndrome. I've had this pain since I was seven months pregnant with Kate. And I didn't think about going to the doctor because my friend said that it is just a normal illness for a pregnant woman. And also she said that it will go away after having a baby. But unfortunately, I still have it. I don't have any idea when my hands will return to normal. Both my hands are suffering from this syndrome. I can hardly hold my baby Kate. It is very painful. Maybe I have to consider going to a doctor soon.

Pop-Up Window

I was provoked last night when i saw this pop up window every time i opened my page. I was wondering how this stuff gets into my page. I tried to remove some of my downloaded widgets but it didn't help. I spent 2 hours at my desk to fixed this problem. But i don't have any idea how it started; I'm not an expert about these things. So i decided to download my template again. It was a pain in the neck because I had to restore everything, but it was worth it. Finally, the pop-up windows disappeared. Hurrah!

Fingerprints

I have to get ready for my appointment this afternoon. Today is the schedule of my fingerprints. Kate will stay at home with her grandparents. As I said before, my in laws will come and visit us to babysit her. I am sure that they are looking forward to see us, and most especially to Kate. Hopefully, Kate will not give them a headache. I don't want them to strain their back for holding her.

My Dinner

I'm so lazy today. I didn't take my shower. And I didn't even prepare food for the dinner. I just ate quaker oats for my breakfast and skip the lunch. So I get starving around 8:00 p.m. It was too late to cook anyway, so I placed an order to a Japanese restaurant which is closer from where we live.
I got mixed vegetable shrimp and chicken. Then my hubby had salmon with broccoli. It was delicious.

Nice Weather

I've been waiting for many days to have weather like this. A sunny day and mild temperature. I think, it's a perfect day for me to go strolling with Kate outside. I'm sure she wouldn't complain about it. She loves being outside anyway; watching people passing by. And also she likes to stop in the boardwalk where she can meet some of her friends. There are so many babies, nannies and lovers hanging around in that place. I think, it is a beautiful place for everybody. It's along the Hudson river where you can see the sunset and the skyline of New York City.

What a Day

I didn't have a chance to go outside today because of the storm. My plan this morning is to go food shopping in our neighborhood grocery store. But I was so scared last time when I went out with Kate. It was this kind of bad weather. Last week a gusty wind pushed me hard while I was walking through the parking lot at the store with Kate. We almost get hit by the shopping cart that was running around outside. A dangerous wind blew them.

Notice

I received a notice from the immigration office today for my biometrics fingerprint schedule. Oh, thank God, finally I can almost remove my conditional status here in the United States. It takes longer than I thought, though, to get this green card. I know the reason . . . because I came here as a fiancée. I submitted all the paperwork that is needed. Do you think it's fun? No it's not, it's a pain in the neck to prepare all of these papers. It's time-consuming too.

Sleepless Night

I wasn't able to sleep last night even though I took melatonin. So I got up and worked a little bit on my computer. But I got hooked into it until my baby Kate woke up. I fed her and changed her; after that I felt sleepy. But unfortunately, Kate was wide awake and cranky. She never gets back to sleep anymore. So, I put her in the stroller and pushed her around the house; I was very exhausted all day long.

Vitamin E

I take Vitamin E every day. I heard it's good for the skin. Also for the vascular system. That means the heart and the blood. I like taking natural vitamin E. I get it in capsules. But I also get vitamin E from palm oil. Most people in Western countries never eat palm oil. It's really healthful and comes primarily from Malaysia.

Changing Sleeping Schedule

I'm so worried about my sleeping schedule. The past few days my daughter Kate has been changing her wake-up time; instead of waking up around 8:00 a.m., now it's much earlier, like 5:00 a.m. And this is a big change that really affects me because I like to go to sleep very late, like around 2:00 a.m. I have to do something about this as soon as possible or else my body will suffer. Sometimes things get difficult caring for a child, especially when you're away from your mother. I know how much easier things would be if my mom was around because she has a lot of experience taking care of kids. It would make everything easier for me. Maybe I'll call her tonight and ask for some advice.
