Cat With a Unique Hat

When I was browsing this morning, I came across this cat with her very unique hat. It's really cool for me to see this because cats are one of my favorite pets. And I'm enjoying seeing this picture. It makes me smile and brightens up my day. Besides she looks gorgeous with this pretty hat. What do you think? The fact is, however, that cats are not nearly as intelligent as dogs. A dog, for example, would not allow anyone to put a pomelo on its head. LOL...

New Video Site

Let me tell you about Stagevu. It is a new site that lets you view videos. It is different from other sites in this field because it uses the DiVX Web Player. This video-sharing and hosting site allows you to post your own video productions, and to see the video productions of others. Is this different from other sites you may be familiar with? You bet. First of all, the quality of Stagevu is much higher than what you've come to expect from a video site. Second, the types of videos you'll find here are cutting-edge and span the entire spectrum of interests from sports to art to entertainment to, well, you name it, they've got it! The site could easily be said to improve upon past sites such as Stage6, and this means one thing for you: more quality and more quality viewing time. Plus, of course, less time spent trying to get the site to work correctly. This baby zings! It's running like a well-designed site should run, flawlessly. More than that, the site looks cool. Not just a drab face on an old theme. This new site brandishes a new clean look and a clean feel as it displays videos that you really want to see, not junk that will simply waste your time. Without doubt, this is the latest in video-sharing and hosting, and you owe it to yourself to take a test drive today. You won't be disappointed.

Nice Weather

What nice weather we have here today in New Jersey. The temperature high is 78°F and most sunny. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. And tonight we will encounter cloudy skies. A few showers developing late. Low 62F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30%. It's not bad at all. I'm thinking to enjoy this terrific weather by going to New York City. And have fun there.

Ecology

Green, green, green. It seems that's all I hear these days. Hey, I'm as much in favor of the planet, grass and fresh air as the next guy, but I'm fed up to the gills with all this green nonsense. Enough is enough. It's getting out of control, really it is. I mean, I'm turning on the radio and I hear commercials that mention green, editorials that mention it ad nauseam, and when I read a magazine all I get is green this and green that. Let's face it, it's snowballing out of control. I think it's blown out of proportion. And I'm thinking maybe I'm going to change my favorite color. It used to be green. But now I don't know.

I would like to invite you, health care executive that you are, to take a fun and enlightening survey which will enable you to be eligible to be called the winner, and you know how exciting it is to be called the winner — no matter what the field, no matter what the event, no matter what the contest, — but this contest is actually a contest that you will enjoy, and the survey one that you, executive that you are, will certainly enjoy, much more than any other survey (for example, a cereal survey, a tax survey, a population survey, a census survey, a demographic survey, and the like); which is why I encourage you, and your entire staff of health care professionals and executives, to participate today, before the opportunity slips by and you are left in the summer sun at poolside, sipping your Shirley Temple and wondering why everyone else is having so much fun with this survey. And by responding to this survey, you have a chance to win an iPod! Just fill out the brief online survey today. Anyway, To take the survey, click here.

Mail

I was planning to send a priority mail envelop to my mother last week. But I forgot to write the letter and pack the stuff into the envelope. I already told her about it. I think I'm going to call her tonight . I know she's waiting. Whenever I send her something she gets very excited. The last thing that I sent to her was the vitamins. I feel sorry for my mom for the inconvenience. I know it was my fault. But I will try to make it up to her by sending more stuff that she likes. Maybe I will be able to do this on Saturday or Sunday.

Enter Today for Your Chance to Win $30,000 + in Prizes!

Imixamerica
Well, Awesome Coldstone Contest is what I would enter if I were you and I was in the age requirements 13-19 years old. I bet you are creative and can create your own Signature Creation and get your friends to buy it. Put your skills to the test in the iMix America contest. Visit the contest site and enter the contest if you are 13-19 years old. The deadline is midnight June 5, 2008, so don't delay. No purchase necessary. You can read all about it on their Web site. You can create your own signature ice cream creation and win the contest. How much fun would that be. Ice cream is good for you, in moderation, because it contains calcium. H.P. Lovecraft ate ice cream almost every day, that's about all he ate, ice cream and coffee. What a guy! He was one of the greatest horror writers of all time, right up there with Edgar Allan Poe. Now, I think that's classy company to keep. He lived in Providence, Rhode Island and wrote these terrific short stories and novellas about monsters that lived under the earth and that came out occasionally to terrorize the people who lived in the New England area. They made a great movie from his work, entitled Dagon, and I urge you to see it. But most of all I urge you to get on the bandwagon and enter this cool ice cream contest. Imagine all the fun you could have designing your very own ice cream signature creation. You can express yourself and possibly win the contest, too. At the same time you'll be helping this company get its ice cream more known. They'll love you for it, and you'll enjoy the experience. Anyway, to find out the rules and regulations of this contest just click here.

Running

Running for office is not fun because you have a lot of competition. But running around a lake can be fun. Did you know that J.D. Salinger moved to Cornish, New Hampshire to get away from New York City? He was running away from New York and into upper New England, presumably to get away from all the hectic life in the big city. So you can see that running has many meanings and means different things to different people. I myself like to run around lakes.

What City am I In?

I wish to talk about the new drama on USA Network, 'In Plain Sight', and its premiere on June 1, 2008. USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight is worth watching and you can do that by turning on your TV and tuning in to the channel. To give you a preview I wish to show you what it's like to be in the witness protection program. Watch the video that accompanies this blog post to see what I mean. You try to guess what city I'm in and post your guesses in my comments section. As you know, this TV show is about the federal witness protection program, and the main character is involved with this program. She's a good guy and is trying her best to help the federal government. This is a mystery and a drama and a melodrama all rolled into one, so if you like new TV shows, this si the show for you. Now you can see why I'm so enthusiastic about it. Kierkegaard would have loved it because he was filled with doubt, and so is the viewer of this show, in a good way.

Dopamine

The funny thing about dopamine is that it makes you feel far from dopey. In fact, the neurotransmitter dopamine makes you feel like a king. It exists in the body and the brain, and if you have plenty of dopamine you're more aggressive, in a positive way, and are verbally more fluent. Dopamine is produced naturally by the body and when you eat protein, drink tea, or exercise your dopamine level rises. In fact, exercise increases not only dopamine but dopamine receptors in the brain, giving you a double boost. In other words, the more you exercise, the more dopamine you'll produce and the more dopamine receptors you'll have.

New TV Show

Have you heard about USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight? The character that I most relate to is the protagonist, Mary. The reason is that we both have a similar character flaw. We are both obstinate people. She is stubborn in her inflexible manner of not telling her family what she really does for a living. I have a similar inflexibility in that I hesitate to reveal to friends and family that I am a huge fan of film director Bo Widerberg. Why, you ask, am I such a fan of his? Well, he directed the flick Elvira Madigan, a lush, original, romantic phantasmagoria that has the feel of a soap commercial and the soundtrack of a Mozart concert. There's nothing like it in American cinema. He's Swedish. So, you can see the similarity between me and Mary. And, knowing that, I encourage you to check this TV show out. It's nothing like the current offerings on TV. It's unique, original, and watchable. The series premiers June 1, 2008.

My Favorite Yankee Player

I am a Yankees fan. Maybe because I live close to New York City. I try to watch every game they play. But when I feel that they're going to lose the game I stop watching them and change to another channel. I don't want to be miserable for the rest of the day. Anyway, my favorite Yankee player is Matsui. I know that he is not the best player but he's close to it. Maybe someday I can ask an autograph from him. I am going to start training so I can play baseball too.

Where's Mary?

Guess what? The USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight is coming soon. I challenge you to find the image, hidden In Plain Sight. I would like to briefly explain the premise of the show, 'In Plain Sight,' and mention that the premiere is June 1st. The premise of the show is that protagonist is a U.S. Marshal with the secret Federal Witness Protection Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is better than a mystery. This is a better an a drama. This is better than a police procedural. This is better than a Greek tragedy. This is better than a other shows on other networks. But most of all this is better than any other show in this time slot.

Runaway in Jordan (Human Trafficking)

I watched the documentary story about the Filipino runaways in Jordan the other night. It's really sad though. They had a terrible experienced with their employer. Some of them experienced physical abuse, maltreatment, and sexual harassment. So in order to get away from this kind of treatment they decided to run away from their employer. But unfortunately, some lost their passports. Anyway, here's the sample video. This is incomplete because I couldn't embed the rest of this video. They disabled it.

Be Safe

I know that it's a bit embarrassing to get STD testing. But today, there's a new and easy way to get this test done. The Web site www.tstd.org is a place where you can get your STD test privately and hassle free. Because they have experienced STD Testing professionals. Then once you get your test done you can brag to all your friends that you're good. Did you know that The Beach Boys' Dennis Wilson often contracted STDs because he had sex with so many women, and he went frequently to the doctor's office to get treated for the conditions he contracted, so just think — it's nothing to be embarrassed about anymore. All the big shot stars have to deal with this, and that includes — you. So get your test done today.

My Food Experiment

I did a food experiment last night. First, you must realize that I don't have any clue how to cook chicken. Nobody ever taught me. I was wondering how to cook it. Then it popped into my head that maybe I could cook it like pork menudo, a Filipino delicacy. So without wasting any time I prepared the ingredients and cooked it the same as I would pork. Luckily, I was more successful than I expected. It tasted yummy... mmmmmm .... But, sad to say, I'm the only one eating it because Mike isn't a big fan of meat or any oil that has been heated (for more on this see the work of Udo Erasmus on fats). Well, maybe I'll be eating this for a week. . . . (Photo: Marilyn Christian. ASA 1600, under fluorescent light.)

Tax Preparation

Mike was so busy preparing our taxes for the past few days. We just have one more week to finish it before the deadline comes. And I know that doing this kind of job is pretty boring. You have to deal with those numbers. Sometimes I help him by doing the bookkeeping. But I got headaches too especially when I organized all of our receipts. It's very confusing if it is not updated. I always told him that whenever he gets a receipt it should be pasted on the folder right away. But he just smiled at me. So, now we're in trouble. I hope that we can finish this soon. As I understand it Federico Fellini had similar tax troubles too.

Color

My favorite color is polka dot. I know it's not a simple color, but it's my favorite. The combination of purple and yellow is my favorite, with a yellow background and purple dots. I haven't seen this on many fabrics, but it would work well this summer with all the pastel colors I expect to see. Would I ever like to see this color on Hillary Clinton!

Blue Skies

Vrrrrrrrrrrroom! Zoooooom! Boooooom! Flying into the air! Soaring through the clear blue skies! Doing twists and loops and aerial acrobatics! Over hill and dale we go. And this is the life for me, the life of a jet pilot, the life of a military aviator. Oh, how I wish I was flying through the blue skies, like a bird, like an eagle, like a duck. But here I am, standing on terra firma, dreaming of being up there in the beautiful blue skies.

Your Ticket to Ticket Exchange

Have you heard about Free Ticket Exchange? I want to tell you about it because, first of all, I am a huge Rolling Stones aficionado. As Ernest Hemingway pointed out in The Sun Also Rises, an aficionado means a fan or an enthusiast. And I am the biggest Stones fan you could find. Not only do I love their music, but I have even gone to see the new Martin Scorsese film about them, Shine a Light in New York City. But let's say I had tickets to that flick but couldn't make it, for some reason. I'd want to sell those tickets, right? But being the huge fan I am, I wouldn't want to sell them to just anybody. I'd want to sell them to a fan who loves the Stones as much as I do. So how could I do that? Before this great new Web site, it would have been very difficult, if not impossible, to find like-minded fans of any band. But now, my problems are solved. All I have to do is long on, post my ticket opportunity, and wait to hear from either friends or neighbors or other Stones fans. Then we could arrange delivery options and I would get points on the site. The points could be used by me to buy tickets to another event, say a Grateful Dead movie or a concert by another band I might want to see. Boy, would I ever love to see Bob Dylan in concert! Or that hot new Filipino fifteen-year old, Charice Pempengco. Did you catch her on Oprah? Can this girl ever belt out those tunes! She is amazing, and only fifteen. So, you see this site could really help you get the tickets you dream about. Take my word for it, it's worth checking out if you like music, movies, theater, or any kind of live event. And best part about it is there are no fees and it is completely free to use. In fact, I'm going on the site right now to see if I can get some tickets to see Dylan and The Beach Boys. Maybe someday soon, I'll be trading tickets with you. Please check this Free Ticket Exchange today.

Just Say "No!" to Birds

Hey, I'm as patriotic as the next guy, but eagles? I mean really. Why does America have to have its national mascot be a bird? I have nothing against birds. But I just don't like them. In my opinion birds are insects. Sure, I heard that birds descended and evolved from dinosaurs. But I don't buy it. I mean, birds are too small to be dinosaurs. Besides dinosaurs were terrestrial animals, and birds are airborne creatures. And finally birds are dirty. Dinosaurs are actually cute — at least some of them are! — but birds? Give me a break. Birds are just glorified bugs with wings. Which is why I'm voting for whichever presidential candidate will get rid of eagles as our national mascot and substitute any other animal. I'd even go with a llama over a bird. (And I don't have any particular fondness for llamas, let me make that clear.) I don't like bugs and I don't like birds and I don't care who knows it. Are you with me on this one? I want a new national motto: Just Say "No!" to Birds.

The Medium is the Message

Banner1
Do you have a father living in Charter's serviceable areas? If so, you can enter an essay about your father for a chance to win him the nation’s biggest HDTV. Father's Day in HD is what awaits you if you win. You can register with your own and your dad's e-mail address and other personal information. After registration, you can submit a brief essay answering the question: “Why does your dad deserves the nation’s biggest HDTV?” Did we mention that the grand prize is the nation’s biggest HDTV with the best Charter HD service and The Charter Bundle™ free for life. Enter to win by June 8, 2008. For complete sweepstakes rules go here. Other prizes for runner-ups include: Charter’s Biggest Bundle, free for a year; and free Charter HD service for a year. Let me say right now that there's nothing I like more than a good TV. Because television, as Marshall McLuhan has so ably pointed out, is the medium of today. Nothing in the foreseeable future is going to kick TV's butt. In other words, you and your family will be watching TV for a long, long time to come, so why not watch on the best screen available? This means only one thing: high definition television. Because once you see the difference you'll never go back to your regular TV again. It's amazing what HDTV can do for the viewer.

Ice

How much ice can a person deal with in one day? That's what I'd like to find out. I'll tell you why, too. Because ice intrigues me, fascinates me, and makes me want to run across it, skate on it, and dig a hole in it to fish for penguins. Or ice seals. Or sea lions. Or whatever it is that lives down in the icy blue water under the ice. I'm going to admit to you right now that I'm an ice fanatic. I love ice. I can't get enough of ice. I would love to see an Imax movie about ice. I once saw one about Antarctica and I loved it. So, please, if you, like me, love ice, send me a note or any information about ice you might know. Even silly facts about ice capture my attention. Nothing is too trivial about ice, for me. Ice rules in my opinion! Ice, ice, and more ice! Brrrrrrrr — I love it!

Venus

The planet Venus. Pink, point-like, and pretty in the sky. Nighttime viewers and astronomers everywhere love this planet, which is the planet of love because it's associated with Venus, the goddess of love. But the most amazing fact about Venus is something you'll probably find hard to believe. Evidence exists — strong evidence, too — that Venus wasn't always the second planet out from the Sun. No, Venus actually moved into its present orbit relatively recently in astronomical time. And I hope you're prepared for a shock: planets in our solar system exploded. There is a lot of evidence for this, including the maria (dark spots) on the Moon and the presence of cosmic debris from the explosion in the form of comets! Read Tom Van Flandern's The Exploded Planet Hypothesis for more on this sizzling theory.

IF These Pants Could Talk

240x180
I couldn’t imagine how I overused my pants. I wear them every time I go out and even if I am just only inside in the house sitting at my desk. If only these pants could talk they would say, "Please let me rest first, or give me a day off once a week. You used me too much. You wash me and wear me. Aren't there any other clothes in your closet besides me? How about your skirt or whatever you have? I am sick and tired of you putting me on every day." That’s what my pants would want to say about me. Well, anyway, I am going to invite you guys to join the Dockers contest. Create your own stories about your favorite pants and submit these stories as videos to the Dockers TV Commercial Contest (www.nbc.com/Dockers). The video length is only 30 seconds, so it should be easy to do. And the winner has a chance to see his ad during the tonight show on NBC with Jay Leno this coming June 13, 2008. So, don’t miss this great opportunity to be creative. You never know but this might be the start of your new Hollywood career. Maybe somebody can spot you out there and give you a nice break. And this can be possible. So hurry and check this Dockers contest right now. But before I forget, please visit the Dockers store and pick your own style there.

The Moon

The Moon is my favorite planet in the solar system. Oh, I know what you're saying. "But, dearie, you know, don't you, that the Moon isn't a planet! The Moon is, well, a moon!" Sure, I know it, but I don't care because to me it's just like a planet. It's big, it has gravity, and it can support human life (if properly terraformed). I intend to go to the Moon one of these days. In fact, I hear that millionaires are already lining up to buy tickets on the first vacation flights. Let me tell you, I'm going to get on that line. And I'm going! I'll see you . . . on the Moon!

Vacation of a Lifetime

There are plenty of things to do in New York. I just want to share about my wildest vacation last year in New York because I'll never forget it. I had so much fun. First we went to the Central Park Zoo. I saw different kinds of animals there that I’ve never seen before. A big macaw was loose. It was flying overhead and two men from the aviary were running after it, trying to capture the bird with long butterfly nets. Of course the bird wasn’t cooperating. Flying overhead with its big blue wings outstretched like an eagle, and looking down at us with its piercing eyes, it seemed to be searching for some place to come in for a safe landing. Without telling anyone, I started to walk faster to try to dodge the wings and talons of this bird of prey. I had no intention of getting clawed or scraped by the sharp beak or attacked by the beast. I had recently seen Jurassic Park on television, and I was in no mood for being besieged by any animal, especially not by a bird. I have no great love for birds. My favorite animal is a pig, and that’s because the pig is an intelligent animal. But do you know where the expression birdbrain comes from? It refers to the small size of a bird’s thinking apparatus. And I believe birds are one of the least intelligent animals on the face of the earth. Everything they do they do from instinct. They never stop to consider their actions beforehand or plan what they’re going to do next. We were lucky to get out of the zoo alive, in my opinion. Next time I’m going to wear a big hat. Rain

O, torrents and sheets of rain! Rain in rivulets and streams. Rain on the left and rain on the right. Rain on my head, on my hands, on my feet, on my face. So much rain you cannot see, you cannot walk, you cannot breathe without inhaling the stuff and choking. Today it felt like we were in London. We used umbrellas, mackinaws, boots, and nose clips — all to no avail since we were drenched from head to toe and through and through. But the funny thing is we love rain and wouldn't have had it any other way.

Are You Afraid From The Dark

Unknown
I have seen the trailer for the movie Frontier(s). The movie and the trailer are terrific. For fans of horror, and you know if you fall into this category, there is no better movie to see these days. This is because this trailer is stupendous. It shows a mastery of pacing, scripting, editing, soundtrack work, and every other skill needed to scare you out of your wits. But all done tastefully without too much blood and guts. I mean what more could you ask for in a Trailer? You don’t want something cheap and overdone, but instead you want something that subtly suggests the horror to come; and that’s exactly what this trailer does. But enough of me talking about it, you’ve got to see this movie for yourself to know what I’m babbling about in my incoherent way. It’s been compared to the work of George Romero (director of Night of the Living Dead, 1968) and William Friedkin (director of The Exorcist, 1973). This movie is unrated and this has sparked some controversy. The Village East Cinema in New York showing is closest to me and that’s where I’m going to see it. I hope I have the courage to walk home from the theater after the show. Maybe I’ll see you at Frontier(s). Of course, because this is a Horror Movie, some of the images as well as the movie trailer may not be suitable for all audiences. But if you’re like me, you’ll love it.

My New Friend

I just met a new friend yesterday. My friend Virgie introduced me with her. I had a nice chat with her because she is also from Cebu, the place where I grew up. We used our own dialect to chat even my husband didn't understand what we're talking about. He just listened to our conversation and never complained. But, when they left they forgot to take their camera. I tried to contact with her cell phone but I couldn't reached her. Maybe her phone is low bat. Anyway, I can try to call her again later.

My Cell Phone

My cell phone is not useful anymore because it's just sitting on my desk. Yes, I admit that sometimes I used it to called my friends but now everybody is busy here with their own lives. It's very rare that I am able to chat with my friends here. Not just like when i[I was there in the Philippines where I could receive and send text messages every day. I think we're wasting our money paying the monthly bills of our cell phone. Besides I'm staying at home taking care of my daughter Kate. And we have a land phone that I can use to make calls. We don't even consume our 700 minutes monthly. Like, if you're making a call from a Verizon phone to a Verizon phone, the minutes are free. I have to think more about this.

Great Online Botique

The Melange online boutique carries a great selection of clothing for women, gifts, pajamas, and baby items. They also have goodies for women of a wide range of ages and styles. Their customer service is amazing, and they have smokin' hot sales! Right now they have a coupon (coupon code: MUSTHAVE) for an additional 20% off any item already marked down! Not only do they have wonderful clothing for you and your friends, but they also have the free shipping on all orders over $75. One of the best features of the site is their discussion of jeans. They call this the jeans bible because it helps you find out what kind of jeans are right for you. Plus you'll hear what other people are saying about their jeans. I bet you never thought twice about your blue jeans, or white jeans for that matter, or black jeans. But now you can get into the groove with the grooviest jeans ever and at the same time know why you're wearing them. In my opinion that alone, of all the other great things, is worth it for the trip to their site. You'll find out why "pocket placement is the key" and how "trial and error" can help you select the jeans that will keep you happy for years to come. In addition, the jeans bible tells you why the style of jeans is crucial in making a decision. Did you know that there are millions of gals out there walking around in jeans that just don't match their face, their hair, their body type? My gosh, that info alone is enough to make a trip to this site worth your while. You don't even have to buy anything to get all this intriguing information on jeans. It's free to you and will keep you ahead of the pack. More than that it will give you the kind of confidence that only professional shoppers have when they go into a store to buy a pair of jeans. (Did you know that there were people who worked as professional shoppers? Oh, yes, it's true, and they shop for other people and make a lot of money doing it. Which is why I mentioned them here.) So you better check out their site at www.melange4women.com and enjoy shopping.

Bowling

We are going to play bowling tomorrow at Chelsea Pier, New York City. I hope that I could knock out some of the pins there. I never played bowling before. I don't really know if I like this kind of sport. But I'm very interested to learn about it. I am now getting excited. Maybe this can be fun.

High School Friend

Finally, Mike got to see his high school friend today. It was over 30 years since they saw each other. Mike decided last week to invite Tom to come over to our house. And yes, he successfully got here around 4:00 p.m.. We ordered pizza and some other foods for our dinner. But Mike kept giving his food supplements to him for trial. They were also enjoying the view as they chatted about vitamin C, vitamin E, and the value of protein and carbs. I can tell that they enjoyed chatting about old times. Just imagine that they used to be a close friends and they just met today after how many years gone by.

Easy - to Use Cellphone

My friend’s grandfather could not dial well because he had a great interest in plasma physics and was always studying something new, so when he dialed a number, although he was good in math, he was usually reading a book or doing calculations at the same time, and as a result he often misdialed. One day he called the post office by mistake and tried to order pizza. He would have loved Jitterbug cell phones because of their customer service, their 24-hour operators, how they help with managing your phone contacts, even dialing calls for you. There are very good different plans and services that Jitterbug offers. I would like to highlight the key benefits of these Jitterbug phones and their services, especially their ease of use, large buttons, and convenience for senior citizens. Another thing that Bryan (that was his name) would have liked was the accessories that come along with, or can be acquired along with, the cell phones that Jitterbug offers. For example you can get a phone charger. He was always crazy about anything electronic and a phone charger would have tickled him pink. He also would have loved the batteries because we used to see him doing electronic experiments with batteries all the time when we visited him. And he would have loved the lanyard; he was always fond of hanging things around his neck. In fact he’s still alive, so what am I waiting for? I’m going to get him a Jitterbug phone for his birthday and surprise him. He will love a Jitterbug.

Fortune Plant

My close friend was giving me a fortune plant a few days ago. She said that this plant will bring good luck to my life. I hope that she's right about this. I know that this is just a superstitious belief. But it doesn't bother me. I'm still wishing my good fortune will come someday. In fact, there's a guy at the door right now. I think he has a check for me. Gotta go get that door...

Classic Style

I would like to invite you to participate in the Dockers Commercial Contest (www.nbc.com/Dockers). The reason is simple. By participating in this Dockers contest you will express your creativity in new and interesting ways and you will be doing the world a favor, making us aware of what is on your mind fashionwise. And speaking of fashion, let me say one thing: I like Paris Hilton’s style. The reason is simple. Her style is flashy. The thing I like about her wardrobe is that she always accessorizes in a way that inspires. The most important accessory you’ll see Paris Hilton using is the pocketbook. Did you know that Paris Hilton has over one thousand different pocketbooks? I could not believe it myself, but what can you say about a girl who is so fashion savvy that she has a new pocketbook for every day of the year – and then some! My style is similar. I don’t have a thousand pocketbooks but I do have many, and I love them all, especially a red plastic one that I got at Macy’s, the largest store in the world. I sure love shopping for pocketbooks at Macy’s. So, I would like to encourage you to create a TV commercial for the Dockers Contest (www.nbc.com/Dockers), featuring a Dockers take on my chosen fashion trend or style previously mentioned in the post, namely the Paris Hilton look. And don’t forget the pocketbooks. Please check out this link to Dockers.

Towels

We have two types of towels in the kitchen. The first type is a white towel which is always perfectly clean. We used this towel to dry dishes and to dry leaves of lettuce. The second type of towel is usually a blue or red towel, and we use this second type of towel to dry the counter tops. This system is very efficient.

Select Blinds

Picture_1
I’m not really happy about our window blinds in the bedroom. Because whenever the sun is up it will illuminate directly into our bedroom. And this really bothers me because I always go to bed late. I never got enough sleep since I moved here. In short, I am sleep deprived. And I didn’t think before to buy new blinds until I came across this beautiful Web site. Select Blinds has a huge selection of window blinds and window shades and also 100's to choose from, all styles, sizes, and materials. The Vogue Wood Vertical Blinds is the one that I like. Because it has ten nice colors to choose from and it’s perfect for color coordinating in any room. They have a 25% off discount offer until Wednesday and a lifetime warranty. Plus, free shipping in Fed Ex or UPS. I think it’s time for me to replace my window blinds and get one that I like from here. It’s better to place my order now before the sale ended.

Earthquake in China

The quake was very devastating in China because they got hit by a huge unexpected earthquake a few hours ago. This is one of the major catastrophes they've experienced. This quake killed almost 10,000 people and thousands more became trapped in rubble. The news said that the official Xinhua news agency reported nearly 10,000 people died in Sichuan province alone and 216 others in three other provinces and the mega-city of Chongqing. I really feel sorry for those victims in this horrible tragedy.

Bird Cages Web Site

I used to have a couple of pet birds in our house before. But unluckily they both died because I put them in the same cage. I didn’t notice that they’re fighting each other inside. When I finally saw it, it was too late for me to help them. I was very disappointed with myself. It was a big mistake of me, putting them together since they were not the same type of bird. I felt guilty. I learned a great lesson from it. Next time, I should be double careful of what I am doing to prevent any accident from happening. Anyway, if you are looking for bird cages the YCA Cages is the perfect online store for you. They are selling bird cages for all purposes, like Aviary, Breeding, Playtop, Dometop, Stylish, and Playstands. In fact, they have also a wide variety of bird cages from small, medium, to large and with the perfect cage design selection for every type of bird. But not only that, they have also birds accessories with affordable and very reasonable prices. Plus, they offer free shipping on all products in their Web site. If you want additional information, please check out their site today at www.ycacages.com

On TV

Hubby got invited today to be the guest of the morning show with Mike and Juliet at the FOX channel New York. They sent a driver early this morning to drive him on the studio. These TV hosts are very interested to know about his new book that was published recently. The name of this book is The Birth Order Book of Love. So I tried to switch on the FOX channel around 9:00 a.m hoping that I would be able to see him on this program. And yes, he's there. He got interviewed by the hosts. It was fun to watch him too. But he is already used to it because this is not his first time he was on TV. You can actually see one of his video clips here.

Happy Mother's Day

Being a first time mom I'm also excited to celebrate a mother's day. I will be receiving a map of Saturn from Kate. I asked for this specifically because of my keen interest in the radio images that have been received on this planet. The map is comprised of radio telemetry and will give me a good idea of the latest technology relating to my favorite planet. I can't wait to see this map, and when I get it I will post it here.

The Amazing Store

Some of the most interesting things sold on Ebay include original art, silverware, and curtains. You can see the curtain here, which sold for an astounding amount, $9.99. The benefits of using a local iSold It store include good prices and great selection. Let me encourage you to drop off any item you wish to sell to your local iSold It store to sell on your behalf on eBay. It is nice to go for a walk when the day is done thinking of all the good you have accomplished, such as boating, talking with neighbors, and placing a bet on a winning horse, or a hopefully winning horse. But in addition to that, of course, you want to do something good for yourself and the larger community. This can be accomplished as explained in this post. If you have any questions about this you can call me up by telephone or send me a letter or also come by in person and say help and I will explain it all to you again or maybe I'll just read you this post, which explains it all in plain English.

2. Clean my bathroom

4. Take Care of my daughter Kate
5. Going out for food shopping

The Perfect Gift On Mother's Day

I can’t wait to celebrate my first mother’s day. And I know not only will I celebrate this special occasion, it is dedicated to all mothers around the world. This coming Sunday my in-laws are inviting us to have a dinner at the restaurant. And until now I didn’t pick any gift for her. I couldn’t think of anything until I came across this Jill-able site. They are selling these beautiful unique Fill Me Up Vases. To use this kind of vase you just simply fill with water and add flowers. This is very convenient to use especially if you’re taking flowers to your loved ones because they fold flat and are made of plastic. I think this is the best gift to give on Mother’s day. Plus, anyone who orders before Mother's Day will receive two free vases. That is 3 for the price of 1. The thing I like most about vases is that they are pretty, classical, and so easy to store when you're not using them. My friend Laura comes and babysits for my vases and my cat when I'm away. I'm going to thank her if she takes care of my new vases. What she does is feed the cats and then polish the vases. Sometimes she arranges flowers in the vases. I like all types of pottery, glassware, and especially vases. I have to admit I like vases more than pocketbooks and I'm a pocketbook addict. I think you're going to love this site. You don't have to be obsessed about vases like me to enjoy it. Just check it out and see what I mean.

Horace

Horace was a poet who had a difficult time walking because one of his feet was bad, so he had to hobble around and sometimes even be carried to where he was going to give his poetry recitals. The fact that Horace had difficulty walking was overlooked by his greatest biographers because at the time of his injury he was not able to write, having succumbed to temporary amnesia. Therefore he never wrote any poems or essays about his difficulty. I like the poetry of Horace and will give you one little example of his work: "A picture is a poem without words." How can you not love a guy like this? And he said this years before cameras were invented. Prescient poet, that Horace!

Artificial Plants and Trees Online

I like plants or flowers inside a house and even outside. I feel that I am living in a paradise. It’s really refreshing to me. Like I always have a peaceful mind. But having a real plant is a lot of work. It needs some maintenance every day. In fact, I have a couple of plants inside my office but sometimes I forget to water them. The next time that I checked the leaves were wilted. Anyway, I’m glad that I found a Web site today that carries silk plants and flowers. It’s really amazing. The look is like your real plants. You can hardly notice the difference between the real plants. Because they’re sheer designer products and very high quality. I think this is a perfect gift for mother’s day or any other occasion. Because without asking, the silk plants will last longer compared to the real plants. And it’s hassle free. They have a huge variety of silk plants. They also have one of the largest inventories of artificial plants and trees in the world. And they also help in decorating homes, offices or business places with affordable prices. They ship around the world.. So if you are interested, please visit their Web site today for more info.

Charles Hapgood

History professor Charles Hapgood came up with an intriguing hypothesis about the earth. Hapgood, who wrote The Path of The Pole (1970), suggested that the magnetic poles reversed numerous times throughout geologic history. Each reversal took approximately 5,000 years. The reason I mention Hapgood is because he was a radical thinker. Although many of his ideas have been rejected by mainstream scientists, he was a leader in rejecting the theory of plate tectonics. Well, plate tectonics is an established theory today, but that doesn't mean Hapgood was wrong about everything. Sometimes radical thinkers have insights that are useful and helpful. Sometimes they don't. In this case, the jury is still out on Hapgood's ideas. I, for one, like to think that radical innovators will get a fair hearing. It's always interesting to discover a new theory, and Hapgood's about the earth's pole shifting is one of the best I've heard in a long time. I'm dying to read his book, too.

You Can Change the World

Dante, the great Italian poet who wrote The Divine Comedy, fell in love with Beatrice when he was only twelve and she was nine. His love for her inspired him throughout his life. The point is that he felt an initial buzz and interest just from seeing her. And the same initial buzz and excitement are felt by creative scientists and technicians all over the world when they get interested in a new idea or take on a new challenge. And one of the best ways to capitalize on this excitement of discovery is to share it with a like-minded individual, especially an expert who might even share your enthusiasm and be able to help you in your quest for new knowledge, a new solution to a technical problem, or a new approach to a thorny old business challenge. Well, hurrah, hurrah! for a new company that lets you — yes you! — hook up with experts all over the world who can answer your questions and help you reach your new creative, technical, and scientific goals. The site is called TekScout and they’ll help you in two primary ways. First, if you are a large R&D organization who would like to post a challenge on their site, they’re there to help you get the word out. Post your question and challenge, and it will be seen by scientists and experts all over the world! How cool is that! Second, if you’re a technical whiz kid, a senior scientist, or just another PhD looking to kill some free time (just kidding, you don’t need to be a PhD), then you will want to sign up to help people worldwide solve their problems and take huge strides forward. Ayn Rand would have loved this. So would Alan Greenspan. And so will you, once you stop by their site. Who knows, tomorrow you may be helping to change the world and making it the better place you know it could be.

Press Release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UTEK Corporation Launches TekScout™ Open Innovation Sourcing Service
Tampa, FL -- (Business Wire) – March 3, 2008 -- UTEK Corporation (AMEX & LSE-AIM: UTK), a leading Open Innovation services company, today announced the launch of its TekScout™ Open Innovation Network. TekScout helps companies look outside of their internal R&D department to better address the challenge of completing complex development projects. The TekScout Open Innovation Network enables companies to post complex development projects, along with a reward and timeline required to solve the problem, in a secure environment. A worldwide network of qualified scientists and engineers can view these challenges and earn rewards for providing unique solutions.

A 2006 Harvard Business School Study entitled The Value of Openness in Scientific Problem Solving, by Lakhani, Jeppenson, Lohse, and Panetta, found that presenting scientific problems to the outside community enabled several large R&D intensive firms to solve over one third of the problems that they had been unable to resolve internally. The study also found that the most successful solutions came from experts that are at the boundary, or outside of their specific fields of interest, indicating the importance of reaching outside of your organization to successfully innovate.

“UTEK has a unique capability to bring companies (TekScouts) and scientists (TekExperts) together, based on our deep-seated relationships with hundreds of companies and relationships with over 2,000 academic institutions around the world,” stated Edward Weisberg, VP and General Manager of TekScout. “We are able to leverage these existing relationships to help ensure that we have the best and the brightest scientists available for companies that are looking for serious solutions to their challenges. TekScout also helps qualified scientists and engineers find R&D challenges that utilize their problem solving capabilities while providing a financial and intellectual reward for winning solutions.”

TekScout challenges will be focused in the disciplines of Life Science, Physical Science, Chemistry, Engineering and Design, Math and Computer Science, and Alternative Energy and Sustainable Products. “Over the past ten years UTEK has built a global reputation for sourcing technologies for our clients. Now, in addition to providing technology sourcing, strategic consulting and patent analytics, we offer clients the ability to outsource their development challenges to bring products to market faster and more cost effectively with a comprehensive Open Innovation program,” added Clifford M. Gross, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of UTEK. “We believe that our goal of becoming the world’s first turn-key provider of Open Innovation services is further enhanced with the launch of TekScout.”

The TekScout Open Innovation Network can be viewed at www.tekscout.com.

About UTEK Corporation: UTEK® is a leading Open Innovation service company. These factors include the small number of transactions that are completed each quarter, the value of individual transactions, the timing of the recognition and the magnitude of unrealized and realized gains and losses of companies in its portfolio, UTEK's dependence on the performance of companies in its portfolio, the possibility that advances in technology could render the technologies it has transferred obsolete, the loss of technology licenses by companies in its portfolio, the degree to which it encounters competition in its markets, the volatility of the stock market and the volatility of the valuations of the companies it has invested in as it relates to its realized and unrealized gains and losses, the concentration of investments in a small number of companies, as well as other general economic conditions. As a result of these and other factors, current results may not be indicative of UTEK's future performance.
