When I was browsing this morning, I came across this cat with her very unique hat. It's really cool for me to see this because cats are one of my favorite pets. And I'm enjoying seeing this picture. It makes me smile and brightens up my day. Besides she looks gorgeous with this pretty hat. What do you think? The fact is, however, that cats are not nearly as intelligent as dogs. A dog, for example, would not allow anyone to put a pomelo on its head. LOL...

Enter Today for Your Chance to Win $30,000 + in Prizes!

Well, Awesome Coldstone Contest is what I would enter if I were you and I was in the age requirements 13-19 years old. I bet you are creative and can create your own Signature Creation and get your friends to buy it. Put your skills to the test in the iMix America contest. Visit the contest site and enter the contest if you are 13-19 years old. The deadline is midnight June 5, 2008, so don't delay. No purchase necessary. You can read all about it on their Web site. You can create your own signature ice cream creation and win the contest. How much fun would that be. Ice cream is good for you, in moderation, because it contains calcium. H.P. Lovecraft ate ice cream almost every day, that's about all he ate, ice cream and coffee. What a guy! He was one of the greatest horror writers of all time, right up there with Edgar Allan Poe. Now, I think that's classy company to keep. He lived in Providence, Rhode Island and wrote these terrific short stories and novellas about monsters that lived under the earth and that came out occasionally to terrorize the people who lived in the New England area. They made a great movie from his work, entitled Dagon, and I urge you to see it. But most of all I urge you to get on the bandwagon and enter this cool ice cream contest. Imagine all the fun you could have designing your very own ice cream signature creation. You can express yourself and possibly win the contest, too. At the same time you'll be helping this company get its ice cream more known. They'll love you for it, and you'll enjoy the experience. Anyway, to find out the rules and regulations of this contest just click here.

What City am I In?
I wish to talk about the new drama on USA Network, 'In Plain Sight', and its premiere on June 1, 2008. USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight is worth watching and you can do that by turning on your TV and tuning in to the channel. To give you a preview I wish to show you what it's like to be in the witness protection program. Watch the video that accompanies this blog post to see what I mean. You try to guess what city I'm in and post your guesses in my comments section. As you know, this TV show is about the federal witness protection program, and the main character is involved with this program. She's a good guy and is trying her best to help the federal government. This is a mystery and a drama and a melodrama all rolled into one, so if you like new TV shows, this si the show for you. Now you can see why I'm so enthusiastic about it. Kierkegaard would have loved it because he was filled with doubt, and so is the viewer of this show, in a good way.

Runaway in Jordan (Human Trafficking)
I watched the documentary story about the Filipino runaways in Jordan the other night. It's really sad though. They had a terrible experienced with their employer. Some of them experienced physical abuse, maltreatment, and sexual harassment. So in order to get away from this kind of treatment they decided to run away from their employer. But unfortunately, some lost their passports. Anyway, here's the sample video. This is incomplete because I couldn't embed the rest of this video. They disabled it.

Best Gifts For Dads and Grads

Father’s day is now approaching again. And I want this occasion to be memorable for my husband because it’s the first time for him to celebrate this very special occasion. I would like to give him something that would make him happy. Anyway, I just found a site about great gifts for dads and grads. They have Personalized flash drives from Pexagon, which are available in 14 exciting colors and 6 capacities ranging from 512MB to 16GB — wow, that's storage!. Personalization with Custom laser Engraving on BOTH sides of the drive is absolutely FREE with no order minimums. Plus, they ship it within 3 business days, guaranteed! I think this is the perfect gift that I can give to my husband because he works on accounting on the computer a lot. He needs something like this so that he can use it every day to transport his files and some other stuff. I should have to place my order soon before the father’s day comes.

Your Ticket to Ticket Exchange
Have you heard about Free Ticket Exchange? I want to tell you about it because, first of all, I am a huge Rolling Stones aficionado. As Ernest Hemingway pointed out in The Sun Also Rises, an aficionado means a fan or an enthusiast. And I am the biggest Stones fan you could find. Not only do I love their music, but I have even gone to see the new Martin Scorsese film about them, Shine a Light in New York City. But let's say I had tickets to that flick but couldn't make it, for some reason. I'd want to sell those tickets, right? But being the huge fan I am, I wouldn't want to sell them to just anybody. I'd want to sell them to a fan who loves the Stones as much as I do. So how could I do that? Before this great new Web site, it would have been very difficult, if not impossible, to find like-minded fans of any band. But now, my problems are solved. All I have to do is long on, post my ticket opportunity, and wait to hear from either friends or neighbors or other Stones fans. Then we could arrange delivery options and I would get points on the site. The points could be used by me to buy tickets to another event, say a Grateful Dead movie or a concert by another band I might want to see. Boy, would I ever love to see Bob Dylan in concert! Or that hot new Filipino fifteen-year old, Charice Pempengco. Did you catch her on Oprah? Can this girl ever belt out those tunes! She is amazing, and only fifteen. So, you see this site could really help you get the tickets you dream about. Take my word for it, it's worth checking out if you like music, movies, theater, or any kind of live event. And best part about it is there are no fees and it is completely free to use. In fact, I'm going on the site right now to see if I can get some tickets to see Dylan and The Beach Boys. Maybe someday soon, I'll be trading tickets with you. Please check this Free Ticket Exchange today.

The Medium is the Message
Do you have a father living in Charter's serviceable areas? If so, you can enter an essay about your father for a chance to win him the nation’s biggest HDTV. Father's Day in HD is what awaits you if you win. You can register with your own and your dad's e-mail address and other personal information. After registration, you can submit a brief essay answering the question: “Why does your dad deserves the nation’s biggest HDTV?” Did we mention that the grand prize is the nation’s biggest HDTV with the best Charter HD service and The Charter Bundle™ free for life. Enter to win by June 8, 2008. For complete sweepstakes rules go here. Other prizes for runner-ups include: Charter’s Biggest Bundle, free for a year; and free Charter HD service for a year. Let me say right now that there's nothing I like more than a good TV. Because television, as Marshall McLuhan has so ably pointed out, is the medium of today. Nothing in the foreseeable future is going to kick TV's butt. In other words, you and your family will be watching TV for a long, long time to come, so why not watch on the best screen available? This means only one thing: high definition television. Because once you see the difference you'll never go back to your regular TV again. It's amazing what HDTV can do for the viewer.

IF These Pants Could Talk

I couldn’t imagine how I overused my pants. I wear them every time I go out and even if I am just only inside in the house sitting at my desk. If only these pants could talk they would say, "Please let me rest first, or give me a day off once a week. You used me too much. You wash me and wear me. Aren't there any other clothes in your closet besides me? How about your skirt or whatever you have? I am sick and tired of you putting me on every day." That’s what my pants would want to say about me. Well, anyway, I am going to invite you guys to join the Dockers contest. Create your own stories about your favorite pants and submit these stories as videos to the Dockers TV Commercial Contest (www.nbc.com/Dockers). The video length is only 30 seconds, so it should be easy to do. And the winner has a chance to see his ad during the tonight show on NBC with Jay Leno this coming June 13, 2008. So, don’t miss this great opportunity to be creative. You never know but this might be the start of your new Hollywood career. Maybe somebody can spot you out there and give you a nice break. And this can be possible. So hurry and check this Dockers contest right now. But before I forget, please visit the Dockers store and pick your own style there.

Are You Afraid From The Dark

I have seen the trailer for the movie Frontier(s). The movie and the trailer are terrific. For fans of horror, and you know if you fall into this category, there is no better movie to see these days. This is because this trailer is stupendous. It shows a mastery of pacing, scripting, editing, soundtrack work, and every other skill needed to scare you out of your wits. But all done tastefully without too much blood and guts. I mean what more could you ask for in a Trailer? You don’t want something cheap and overdone, but instead you want something that subtly suggests the horror to come; and that’s exactly what this trailer does. But enough of me talking about it, you’ve got to see this movie for yourself to know what I’m babbling about in my incoherent way. It’s been compared to the work of George Romero (director of Night of the Living Dead, 1968) and William Friedkin (director of The Exorcist, 1973). This movie is unrated and this has sparked some controversy. The Village East Cinema in New York showing is closest to me and that’s where I’m going to see it. I hope I have the courage to walk home from the theater after the show. Maybe I’ll see you at Frontier(s). Of course, because this is a Horror Movie, some of the images as well as the movie trailer may not be suitable for all audiences. But if you’re like me, you’ll love it.

High School Friend
Easy - to Use Cellphone
My friend’s grandfather could not dial well because he had a great interest in plasma physics and was always studying something new, so when he dialed a number, although he was good in math, he was usually reading a book or doing calculations at the same time, and as a result he often misdialed. One day he called the post office by mistake and tried to order pizza. He would have loved Jitterbug cell phones because of their customer service, their 24-hour operators, how they help with managing your phone contacts, even dialing calls for you. There are very good different plans and services that Jitterbug offers. I would like to highlight the key benefits of these Jitterbug phones and their services, especially their ease of use, large buttons, and convenience for senior citizens. Another thing that Bryan (that was his name) would have liked was the accessories that come along with, or can be acquired along with, the cell phones that Jitterbug offers. For example you can get a phone charger. He was always crazy about anything electronic and a phone charger would have tickled him pink. He also would have loved the batteries because we used to see him doing electronic experiments with batteries all the time when we visited him. And he would have loved the lanyard; he was always fond of hanging things around his neck. In fact he’s still alive, so what am I waiting for? I’m going to get him a Jitterbug phone for his birthday and surprise him. He will love a Jitterbug.

Classic Style

I would like to invite you to participate in the Dockers Commercial Contest (www.nbc.com/Dockers). The reason is simple. By participating in this Dockers contest you will express your creativity in new and interesting ways and you will be doing the world a favor, making us aware of what is on your mind fashionwise. And speaking of fashion, let me say one thing: I like Paris Hilton’s style. The reason is simple. Her style is flashy. The thing I like about her wardrobe is that she always accessorizes in a way that inspires. The most important accessory you’ll see Paris Hilton using is the pocketbook. Did you know that Paris Hilton has over one thousand different pocketbooks? I could not believe it myself, but what can you say about a girl who is so fashion savvy that she has a new pocketbook for every day of the year – and then some! My style is similar. I don’t have a thousand pocketbooks but I do have many, and I love them all, especially a red plastic one that I got at Macy’s, the largest store in the world. I sure love shopping for pocketbooks at Macy’s. So, I would like to encourage you to create a TV commercial for the Dockers Contest (www.nbc.com/Dockers), featuring a Dockers take on my chosen fashion trend or style previously mentioned in the post, namely the Paris Hilton look. And don’t forget the pocketbooks. Please check out this link to Dockers.

Select Blinds

I’m not really happy about our window blinds in the bedroom. Because whenever the sun is up it will illuminate directly into our bedroom. And this really bothers me because I always go to bed late. I never got enough sleep since I moved here. In short, I am sleep deprived. And I didn’t think before to buy new blinds until I came across this beautiful Web site. Select Blinds has a huge selection of window blinds and window shades and also 100's to choose from, all styles, sizes, and materials. The Vogue Wood Vertical Blinds is the one that I like. Because it has ten nice colors to choose from and it’s perfect for color coordinating in any room. They have a 25% off discount offer until Wednesday and a lifetime warranty. Plus, free shipping in Fed Ex or UPS. I think it’s time for me to replace my window blinds and get one that I like from here. It’s better to place my order now before the sale ended.

Bird Cages Web Site
I used to have a couple of pet birds in our house before. But unluckily they both died because I put them in the same cage. I didn’t notice that they’re fighting each other inside. When I finally saw it, it was too late for me to help them. I was very disappointed with myself. It was a big mistake of me, putting them together since they were not the same type of bird. I felt guilty. I learned a great lesson from it. Next time, I should be double careful of what I am doing to prevent any accident from happening. Anyway, if you are looking for bird cages the YCA Cages is the perfect online store for you. They are selling bird cages for all purposes, like Aviary, Breeding, Playtop, Dometop, Stylish, and Playstands. In fact, they have also a wide variety of bird cages from small, medium, to large and with the perfect cage design selection for every type of bird. But not only that, they have also birds accessories with affordable and very reasonable prices. Plus, they offer free shipping on all products in their Web site. If you want additional information, please check out their site today at www.ycacages.com

The Amazing Store
Some of the most interesting things sold on Ebay include original art, silverware, and curtains. You can see the curtain here, which sold for an astounding amount, $9.99. The benefits of using a local iSold It store include good prices and great selection. Let me encourage you to drop off any item you wish to sell to your local iSold It store to sell on your behalf on eBay. It is nice to go for a walk when the day is done thinking of all the good you have accomplished, such as boating, talking with neighbors, and placing a bet on a winning horse, or a hopefully winning horse. But in addition to that, of course, you want to do something good for yourself and the larger community. This can be accomplished as explained in this post. If you have any questions about this you can call me up by telephone or send me a letter or also come by in person and say help and I will explain it all to you again or maybe I'll just read you this post, which explains it all in plain English.

You Can Change the World
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UTEK Corporation Launches TekScout™ Open Innovation Sourcing Service
Tampa, FL -- (Business Wire) – March 3, 2008 -- UTEK Corporation (AMEX & LSE-AIM: UTK), a leading Open Innovation services company, today announced the launch of its TekScout™ Open Innovation Network. TekScout helps companies look outside of their internal R&D department to better address the challenge of completing complex development projects. The TekScout Open Innovation Network enables companies to post complex development projects, along with a reward and timeline required to solve the problem, in a secure environment. A worldwide network of qualified scientists and engineers can view these challenges and earn rewards for providing unique solutions.
A 2006 Harvard Business School Study entitled The Value of Openness in Scientific Problem Solving, by Lakhani, Jeppenson, Lohse, and Panetta, found that presenting scientific problems to the outside community enabled several large R&D intensive firms to solve over one third of the problems that they had been unable to resolve internally. The study also found that the most successful solutions came from experts that are at the boundary, or outside of their specific fields of interest, indicating the importance of reaching outside of your organization to successfully innovate.
“UTEK has a unique capability to bring companies (TekScouts) and scientists (TekExperts) together, based on our deep-seated relationships with hundreds of companies and relationships with over 2,000 academic institutions around the world,” stated Edward Weisberg, VP and General Manager of TekScout. “We are able to leverage these existing relationships to help ensure that we have the best and the brightest scientists available for companies that are looking for serious solutions to their challenges. TekScout also helps qualified scientists and engineers find R&D challenges that utilize their problem solving capabilities while providing a financial and intellectual reward for winning solutions.”
TekScout challenges will be focused in the disciplines of Life Science, Physical Science, Chemistry, Engineering and Design, Math and Computer Science, and Alternative Energy and Sustainable Products. “Over the past ten years UTEK has built a global reputation for sourcing technologies for our clients. Now, in addition to providing technology sourcing, strategic consulting and patent analytics, we offer clients the ability to outsource their development challenges to bring products to market faster and more cost effectively with a comprehensive Open Innovation program,” added Clifford M. Gross, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of UTEK. “We believe that our goal of becoming the world’s first turn-key provider of Open Innovation services is further enhanced with the launch of TekScout.”
The TekScout Open Innovation Network can be viewed at www.tekscout.com.
About UTEK Corporation: UTEK® is a leading Open Innovation service company. UTEK’s services enable clients to become stronger innovators, rapidly source externally developed technologies and create value from their intellectual property. Such forward-looking statements are subject to certain risks and uncertainties, including the financial performance of UTEK, and the valuation of UTEK's investment portfolio, which could cause actual results to differ materially from those currently anticipated. Although UTEK believes the expectations reflected in any forward-looking statements are based on reasonable assumptions, it cannot give any assurance that its expectations will be attained. Shareholders, potential investors and other readers are urged to consider these factors carefully in evaluating any forward-looking statements. Certain factors could cause results and conditions to differ materially from those projected in these forwardlooking statements, and some of these factors are discussed below. These factors are not exhaustive. New factors, risks and uncertainties may emerge from time to time that may affect the forward-looking statements made herein. These forward-looking statements are only made as of the date of this press release and UTEK does not undertake any obligation to publicly update such forward-looking statements to reflect subsequent events or circumstances. UTEK's operating results could fluctuate significantly due to a number of factors. These factors include the small number of transactions that are completed each quarter, the value of individual transactions, the timing of the recognition and the magnitude of unrealized and realized gains and losses of companies in its portfolio, UTEK's dependence on the performance of companies in its portfolio, the possibility that advances in technology could render the technologies it has transferred obsolete, the loss of technology licenses by companies in its portfolio, the degree to which it encounters competition in its markets, the volatility of the stock market and the volatility of the valuations of the companies it has invested in as it relates to its realized and unrealized gains and losses, the concentration of investments in a small number of companies, as well as other general economic conditions. As a result of these and other factors, current results may not be indicative of UTEK's future performance. For more information on UTEK and for a more complete discussion of the risks pertaining to an investment in UTEK, please refer to UTEK's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
