Family Burnout

Family burnout. There is a topic no father can resist. Some fathers burn out early. Some burn out late. But all burn out sooner or later. Some mothers burn out early. Some mothers burn out late. But all mothers burn out sooner or later. Some children burn out early. Some children burn out late. But all children burn out sooner or later. The point is that family burnout can happen to you. Don't take this seriously? Then you might burn out without even knowing it.

Family Faucet Fun

No family can survive without them. This statement about Kohler faucets indicates one thing. These items are precious to family living because each house or apartment needs water. The silver or gold fixtures are more popular than ever. The heavy brass fixtures are a thing of the past but can be brought back when needed for a look that will have your family and your extended family talking for ages. What will they say? Only time can tell. But it will always be good.

Howard Hughes and the Family Crisis

Let's take Howard Hughes, for example. For years he was on a job search, one which his family did not understand. His family and his children could not figure him out. Why, they asked, does he do this? Why lock himself away from the family and his mother and father and brother and sister? Why not communicate? Why insist on family destruction rather than family harmony? The answer in his case is complex. Family was not his highest priority. His priorities were gold and the silver screen.

My Little Christmas Tree

This Christmas tree is a living tree. I bought it at the supermarket a week ago. It's not the best tree but it's better than nothing, at least we shared the spirit of Christmas. The top is a snow pig, also known as a lightning lizard, from the Amazon. Some people refer to them as polar bears or panda bears or simply snowmen. We call ours Felix. This year Felix is our snow symbol, and we hope people like his smile.

Family Health Care Now in Sight

The Senate voted tonight to end a filibuster and the way is now paved for national health insurance in the United States. But Blue Advantage wants families to know. But more than that they want you to see. Yes, the way is clear for the final vote. It is not expected to come before 7:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The vote was tight and the race has not yet been won. You can also expect higher taxes. But some victories have been won.

Family Fun with Electricity

I don't know what I enjoy more: electrical gadgets or new faucets. My family has been enjoying the new wf2cb, which, if you must know, is a new combination of two of our family fun themes. We love new refrigerators and also trying out new appliances in our home. We have a peach colored refrigerator on the first floor, and a white one upstairs, in the kids' room. We have been thinking of getting a new, smaller refrigerator for the basement.

Grab Bag

Since our family is getting bigger and bigger, we came up with a decision a week ago that only kids who are below 18 in our family can get a Christmas gift. While for adults it is grab bag day, for the minimum amount of $10. Well, sounds fun for me and exciting. The Christmas party will be held in our apartment for a change. I'm looking forward to it, too. Yes, family fun for all.

Weight Problem?

I admit that it is easier to gain weight than to lose it . There are plenty of options out there regarding weight loss. But all I can say is you better do your research first before jumping in and making a big decision. Gather all the information and study it very carefully for your own good. In this way you can evaluate approaches ranging from diets to supplements to caloric restriction and more. And remember that the research you do today will pay rich rewards tomorrow, both for you and your family.

Heat Shields

The spacecraft was heating up as it reentered the earth's atmosphere. Then it landed. The tile on its surface was heated to 7000 degrees Fahrenheit. This is because of friction with the earth's atmosphere. This is not a plasma issue, but one of simple thermal conductivity. Most heat shields cannot tolerate such abrasion. But some can. Do you know the one you need? If not, go outside your family and ask an expert.

Got Lost in Grand Central

We got lost at Grand Central Station on Thanksgiving Day. It was so crowded when we got there. I couldn't pass through the people. It was like we were in the New Year's Eve crowd in New York City. Anyway, hubby was getting our train ticket in the ticket booth and it was a long line. So, I told him that I was going to get a pie for his sister. Then he said to me that just in case we got separated we'll meet at the information booth. But he didn't find me there, so he went out to look for me. Obviously, I didn't see him in our meeting place so I decided to go to the train track, hoping he's there waiting for us. Unfortunately, he's not there. I tried to get on the train but the security didn't let me in because I didn't have a ticket with me. Well, the train was going to leave very soon. Suddenly, hubby came but the train just left as soon as we got to the platform. So, we got the next train... Nevertheless, it was still a fun experience and a fun day.

World War Two and The French Coast

If the beaches of Omaha could be swept clean of mines then the boys who arrived in the naval vessels and the tanks could have had an easier time on D-Day. The text alert system, which was not used at that time in the way it is used today, also could have helped save millions of American lives and perhaps shortened the war by years. Computers have altered the way we conduct business and also the way we communicate.

Happy Thanksgiving

We're getting ready now for a Thanksgiving trip. Well, the same as usual we're going to celebrate this special day at the sister's house of my hubby. We all know that this is a kind of family tradition here, get together for the family. I guess everybody is excited, plus it's a long weekend and a Black Friday sale. Once again, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY FRIENDS... Let's enjoy... I will talk to you all soon.

A Nice Breakfast on the Road

Through the state of Kansas we drove and in the morning we came to a little roadside diner and had a breakfast of eggs and muffins and some black coffee to keep us alert for the long drive to Nebraska. We were interested in finding our more about insurance marketing and that was the entire reason for our road trip that winter. The year was 1979. Of course, today things have changed, and a lot of the research can be done online and through dedicated companies, but back then it was hard work finding out what you needed to know. But, boy, did those breakfasts help!

Think Positive

"Every day in every way I'm getting better and better," said the great philosopher and positive thinker Émile Coué. I'm sure that he was such an optimistic person that if he had a laptop he would have used it to perfect himself even more. I never knew what he looked like until tonight when I went online, actually, and looked for a photo of the man. He was quite imposing, very tall, with a thick moustache, aristocratic features, and an expensive overcoat. He clearly expressed his philosophy in the way he carried himself.

The Eakins Legacy and Secret Life

There is a legacy that Thomas Eakins fans should know about and it involves the secret life of Thomas Eakins. In this Portrait of Susan Macdowell Eakins (the wife of the artist), Eakins reveals his trademark approach to the face, one which leaves no stone unturned, so to speak. He has the gumption to make her eyes flash at the viewer with a subdued and hidden horror at what they have seen and what they conceal. But who knows what Eakins was really thinking as he did this painting. Look at her shirt and at how closely it covers her neck. He did not want anything revealed! It was all a secret, a dark secret.

Eakins and His Niece

Thomas Eakins and his niece had a strange yet famous relationship. They did not use any live chat software, however they could have had they lived today. Instead, Eakins is said to have caused his niece to commit suicide by attacking her and molesting the girl. She blew her brains out with a shotgun. These startling incidents are discussed in a new book about Eakins that anyone can obtain from their library or online. I am not making this stuff up. It is verified and historical. More than that, it is one reason why communication should be improved today with more software, to prevent such obvious misdeeds from recurring.

How to Please Your Portraitist

The greatest painters realize that the human skin is one of the most deceptively easy things to paint and yet one of the most difficult to get right. If only models would use more wrinkle cream, they declaim. If only they would take better care of their skin! For heaven's sake, just look at these people, going to waste. If only they took more fish oil they'd have a radiance about them that would certainly translate to the canvass. Yet not one in a hundred takes the time to do things right.

Roads to Eakins

The Agnew Clinic by Thomas Eakins is a painting that undoubtedly contains hidden dimensions and meanings not apparent to the conscious mind of most viewers, yet which give the work some of its strange mystery and power. A new book about Eakins reveals that he was a sadist, that he had relationship problems, that he was interested in nudity, that he liked to shock women who were his models by stripping in front of them, and that he had other mental quirks, all of which are somehow hidden in this painting.

The Cars in My Dreams

Every Mickey Spillane fan knows about cars. The faster the better. Some Ferrari parts might even be involved in the story. But Agatha Christie was also interested in cars, though not for the same reason. She usually wanted to go for a drive in the country with her uncles and her family. She was a big fan of driving to relax. She then would go back to work on a new story. These are the ways that cars factor into the mystery milieu. Even Samuel Beckett was interested in cars and mystery novels.

South American Adventure into Health

Not only are there many who have gone to South America for vacation, but there are a sizable group of adventurers who have journeyed there for more exotic reasons, one of them being to discover true health secrets from the Amazon. One of these is the best eye cream, which can be had in many American department stores. Most adventurers, though, believe in the guava and the other South American fruits that can produce an oil superior to anything you're likely to find online or in a store. It's the vitamin E in its natural state that helps the skin stay young and vibrant.

Transportation by Train

The steam locomotive has mystified generations of fans of this mode of transportation. The steam locomotive has fascinated families as well as individual collectors. The steam locomotive has made generations of boys and men aware of new heights in collecting and they are grateful to the manufactures of these trains as well as to those who make the toy trains too.

How I Found My Calling as a Child

Three years ago while wandering through Vermont I cam across a very unusual family heirloom that belonged to the family of Benjamin Franklin. I told my friends that I had found a genuine and valuable Amish fireplace. It was not long before we were all making excursions into the Birmingham, Vermont, area looking for the same kinds of treasures that old Ben Franklin had found so valuable in 1776 and afterward, as he and the forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.

The Romance of November

Family holidays are here and we are all waiting for a good snowfall. The tvs we watch may have a flat screen or a convex one, that's not the point. The thing that matters is the romance that settles over everything during the month of November and December. The world waits on the turn of events that all hinges on the weather. The nations of the world are rather like snowflakes, glittering in the moonlight. The darkness that steals over the hills of the Berkshires invites us all to contemplate the life that Thoreau lived in Walden and to thank out lucky stars that we are not confined to a jail cell like he was on a dusky November eve in 1843.

So Scary

I thought I got stuck on the light rail train today. The story started when I got on the train, after which I noticed that I was alone on the first car. I saw the engineer leave the engine and go outside. The one thing that scared me so much was that the door was closed. Then I turned around and saw that there was nobody else on the car except me. So I started to bang the door so that the people outside would spot me and help me to get out. They just ignored me. I pressed the open button on the door but unfortunately it didn't work. I began to worry because it was getting late at night and I was thinking that maybe the engineer left already and went home. So, I sat down for awhile, and then after about 13 minutes the door opened, so I'm rushing to get out but the people were going in. So I asked a guy if the train was going to run, and he said yes, so I got on again. Oh, well, funny but scary...

Balikbayan Box

My family back home was so happy because they finally got the Balikbayan box that I sent a couple of months ago. It takes time to get there since I used the sea cargo option, but it's worth it. There's no weight limit on this box as long you follow their guidelines and avoid any of the prohibited items. Well, it was my first time using this courier and I'm so glad that it worked out so well. I'll definitely use them again next year. Now I am starting again to fill up my next box. I'm so excited thinking what I can put in it. I'll make a list of what I send and keep it for reference.

Buster Keaton

"Gawwwwwwww! Gimme a simple answer will ya! 'At's all I ask..."

That was the inimitable Buster Keaton speaking. Born to make women swoon, educated to act in films, and trained on the set of Hollywood's Sunset Strip, Keaton was a funny little man who, according to his office manager, "used to sneak up behind people and try to scare them." This was the mark of a funny man indeed! Even his good friend Rudolph Valentino said that Keaton was as unpredictable as a sandwich.

Israel in the Summer and Brazil in Winter

No one likes looking in the sky when the sun is too bright and blinding, but almost everyone can agree that a visit to the outdoors is pleasant when the weather is mild and the sky a bit overcast. This is why my city of choice for walking is Baltimore. But when I have a chance I look for my current artistic future in Brazil, jobs in philadelphia can help even the most wildly imaginative nature lover or traveler. You just pop onto the family friendly site and away you go.

Put that in Your Pipe and Smoke It

Popeye was a character created by William Faulkner for his novel Sanctuary, and he was a gangster with a penchant for Backwoods cigars. Even today a guy like Ian Fleming's Goldfinger likes the good life. The way you see them in the streets of Singapore, for example, you'd think everyone was reading the book The Goldrush. But even vacationers in Milan like a nice relaxing read once in awhile, and thank heavens for that. Pleasanter winters and summers cannot be found this side of paradise, as good old F. Scott Fitzgerald would say.

Train Staterooms

Sometime around six o'clock the train whistle blew and the old conductor carried a bottle of soda into the Princess's sleeper. The girl was reading a book. It was Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne. The book was in French. The conductor put the soda down on the table and looked at the girl. "Why aren't you at the club car?" The girl did not look up at him, she continued reading. Didn't even blink. The old conductor stood there a moment. As if he were not even aware that he himself had spoken. Then he moved. He stepped out into the corridor.

Eleventh Avenue Menus

Eleventh Avenue is a nice street, if you can see it from high above the sidewalk. People are walking quickly to their appointments with fish sellers, family doctors, acne treatment specialists, and others in the medical field. The New York skyline is replete with clouds and the pedestrians are all happy and smiling. This is the way 2009 should end, not with a bang but a whimper.

Desert Fun for the Whole Family

From on the horizon, to on the surf, to on the desert highway known only as Route 66, Felix and the Man are headed to town for a bout of fun and a little planned-out rv towing, if you can picture it. My own penchant for family fun leads me to believe that they will have a car on the way to Topeka, Kansas, before the year is through. This is surely the way to live, and they know it.

Istanbul

Three storeys up, in a long narrow wood paneled room with a dusty but bright yellow pine floor, a tall man sat hunched over a desk, checking a list. He was wearing a white cotton business shirt and tan twill trousers. His face was a long narrow focused oblong of concentration. As if the work had warped his ability to do — or be — anything else. There was a bed in the room, but other than that the rest of it was more like an office than living quarters. In fact, this was the library headquarters of the Compagnie International des Wagon-Lits, and the man, D.P. Kleinst, was its chief officer. We will pick up with Mr. Kleinst, or Dr. Kleinst, as he is known in the company, in a later blog post.

Family Diets Rich in Almonds

"Because we can," is the way President Kennedy put it when he made his famous state of the union address back in the 60s. And that's the same attitude many dieters take when it comes to their latest diet pill. They figure it this way: If it works, why not try it. But my family is very cautious and we have another philosophy. We believe in the Edgar Cayce approach and we always try homeopathy first. Yet there have been many times when we have selected one of his other remedies, such as a diet rich in almonds.

Pink Cadillac

Over all the others I selected Omni as the name for my new car because it was so shiny and new, but several of my friends who got the chance to ride in it last week suggested that what we needed was a pair of sunglasses to protect ourselves from the glare of the windshield. But then Hester said that what would work better than that might simply be some of the best eye creams, and you know, I think she was right. My family always travels in style.

Halloween Costumes

I bought a halloween costume for Kate today. Thank God, that it was a final sale in the Children's Place store. I got a big discount and save some bucks. I just picked the very simple and cute one. But she looks good on it.

A Family Game All Can Play

Hopscotch was one of my favorite toys and games when I was about six years old. Now that I have my own family, I still like the game, but I also like the idea that the family can communicate via the Internet. Custom usb drive can help with that and it has been shown to help in the past decade. This is only going to get better. That is the way my family sees it anyway. I hope that we look at this in the same way for many years to come.

Exercise in Singapore for the Entire Family

Jack is always planning to go to the gym and run on the treadmill. He tries to maintain his cardio fitness and it works. He is now one of the fastest people on the machine. The other day the trainer said to him, "Jack, can you come into my office for a moment, I want to show you a piece of literature I received in the mail recently from a new pool manufacturer in Singapore, where I know you traveled last Spring, if you don't mind."

Computer Broke

Hubby,s computer broke yesterday morning. So,now I have to share mine till he gets his new one. This is not easy for us since we both spend a lot of time on the computer. Well, he placed the order today and expecting to arrive next week. I can't wait.

Back in New Haven for a Review of the Family Business

Even police officers on the job in Singapore like to stay informed about the latest and the greatest. That's why my uncle Harold, who visited me last week, told me about this friend of his (a Singapore police officer) who was interested in bcbsnc. They helped each other. First my uncle told him he could get him a plan that would make his life in Singapore richer and more rewarding, but soon both of them were comfortably sitting on the porch in New Haven, looking over the new contract. Can you imagine that!

Brain Help

Progesterone has been shown to protect against brain injury. The new edition of Life Extension has an interesting article on this issue. The family of those victims who have suffered this type of debilitating illness can benefit from the application of progesterone and clinical studies now back this up as a valid option, in fact, one of the most successful and least invasive treatments known.

The Family that Eats Together . . .

Fifteen years from now what will people say? They may say they had a colon cleanse, but they might not. It all depends on their approach to diet and exercise. For my family, the best approach is to wait to see if the research supports a certain diet or a certain fast or medical procedure. We all read the New York Times, of course, and the Daily News medical section. We listen to 1010 WINS radio and we eat our broccoli. That, in my opinion, is the best you can do, given the current knowledge we have about how diet impacts on health.

Singapore

It is now a fact that Singapore is the country with one of the highest standards of living in the world, even higher than the United States. I visited Singapore with my family in 2004 and I found that the climate was mild, the food delicious, and the people friendly. I hope to go back soon. I have visited with Google Earth recently and have seen some nice improvements in their shoreline. The beaches are also out of this world. In many ways the country reminded me of the Philippines. (Photo: Singapore temple.)

Office Furniture

In my opinion, it is very important to have a nice selection of quality green and beige (perhaps even rattan) office furniture in the office or studio, especially if you are an artist or a plumber or even an advertising copy writer. It not only looks good but it also helps to relax the mind while working. A nice environment makes your employees become more productive and keeps them out of stress. Well, it is just my own point of view, but everyone in my family agrees.

Family Fish and Meat Industry Ideas

Nothing is on tap these days like a good deal of fish in India or a good amount of red meat in New Delhi. But for those in the meat packing industry or the seafood industry, there is no better way to prevent icebergs from forming on your company profile than with a good, and more than adequate, modern and professionally installed rackmount lcd, which can last a lifetime.

Kate is Sick

My daughter Kate is sick. She has a cold and fever. But the truth is that these physical reactions are making her better. As Dr. Joseph Mercola points out on his Web site, when a child gets a cold or fever it develops natural immunity to the bacteria or virus. This is much better - and safer - than getting a flu shot. In fact, he advises people to avoid the swine flu shot because it's very dangerous and contains adjuvants that rev up the immune system in unnatural ways. You should read his Web site on this issue.1

Halloween Surprises and Ideas

Everone I know is doing their Halloween preparation. I am too. We have a neighbor from Idaho who uses a steam cleaner. They are from Connecticut and moved to Idaho last fall. They swear that it works for them. They are very enthusiastic about it. They said it will work for us if we try it. They promised to lend us theirs if we wanted it too.

Farmville Game

Recently I have become preoccupied playing farmville in facebook. Oh boy my fingers are aching from clicking the mouse. Then I realized that maybe this game will ruin my hands. I hope not. Some of my friends told me that they are really addicted to it. I'm not sure myself if I am one of them. All I know is I keep planting and don't let my plants get withered. I harvest it on time. I am 3 days on this game now. What do you think?

Pronexin Ingredients

I'm not sure if you heard about Pronexin before. Well, it is one of the best acne treatments these days. Actually, I'm thinking of buying one bottle to send to my cousin back home after I did my research today. The full ingredient list is easily available online, and includes: Organic Aloe Vera, MSM (Bio Available Sulfur), Tea Tree Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Grapefruit seed extract, Idebenone, DMAE, Green Tea Extract, Grape Seed Extract, Glucosamine HCL, Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Palmitate), Vitamin A Retinol Palmitate, and others.

Hermann Hesse's Favorite Fan Part

This item is so popular that it's known by its number alone: 4396841. That stands for the part number of a refrigerator filter. These days when you can get that kind of name recognition you know you've arrived. Hermann Hesse used one of these gadgets and I believe Thomas Malory also used one while he was in prison, in England. The point is that the 239 is a gem and it does what it's supposed to do. Try one today and join the crowd.

Kate's Party

The party was very successful because the guests were very happy when they left. Kate was enjoying seeing her relatives and friends. Plus, she got a lot of gifts. She played with her boyfriend too. It is very seldom that they see each other since he lives far away from us.

My Aunt's Weight

Unfortunately, my aunt is heavy weight. I'm not sure if diet pills will work for her since she is not watching her food intake or her general diet. The way she eats is like there's no tomorrow. I tried to advise her many times but she just ignored me. I'm so worried about her weight though. I know that sooner or later she will develop different illnesses. I'm hoping that very soon she will make up her mind that I am right and do the right thing. Did someone say Atkins?

Why I Am Busy

I was so busy preparing food for the birthday of my daughter, Kate, yesterday. It was my first time baking lasagna. I just followed the basic lasagna recipe online. Thank God that they loved it. They said it tasted great. Maybe I was rather lucky. They all liked my food at the party. I also made a pot roast, cheeseburgers, shrimp, salad and fish. I will do it again next year if anyone is interested.

Flash Flood in Manila Philippines

Last Saturday, a big flash flood happened in my country of origin, where my two brothers lived. I called my brothers many times but they didn't have a signal. This morning I tried it again, and I finally heard from one of them, and that is my next older brother. He said that he never heard from our eldest brother since the first day of the typhoon. I'm so worried thinking about him. I was crying when I watched the TV news on TFC because there's a lot of people who got killed from this typhoon, which is named Ondoy. What a big catastrophe! I'm hoping and praying that everything will be fine soon.

Travelling with Luggage

When I went back home a couple of years ago I used Samsonite luggage for my trip. All of my stuff just fit perfectly in it. Well, I bought the Expandable Upright. It is lightweight and good for a 1 week trip. So, if you are looking for luggage for your upcoming vacation, try to check this out. Maybe you'll find the right one for you. I sure did.

Tiles for the Entire Family

I like golden colored and amber colored glass tiles in my bathroom. They're so beautiful and easy to clean up. I love the color turquoise. Then, I'll match it to my shower curtain, which is blue. I'm sure it will look great. It's very relaxing when taking a bath and everything is well organized in your bathroom. It's a good feeling. Next time if our Arkansas friends have a chance to buy a two-family house I'm sure they definitely will use glass tiles like this.

Package

I sent a package to my brother last week through LBC and I was so glad to hear from him that he got it yesterday. It was very quick and easy. Now I don't have to worry about sending packages back home because I can really trust the LBC air cargo system. The good thing is I can track the package online. It's a little bit pricey but it's definitely worth the money.

Havaianas Flip Flop

A couple of months ago I sent flip-flops to my cousin back home through USPS priority mail. Usually this kind of mail only takes 7-14 days to arrive there. But this time I lost all hope because when I talked with my cousin last month she said that she didn't get them. I thought somebody got interested and stole the package. But guess what? She left a message this morning that she received the mail yesterday. Oh, boy, it took three months but I'm so happy that she finally got them, after the long wait.

TV

Are you tired of watching your small TV screen? Maybe it's time for you to treat yourself. Get the latest LCD HDTV today. I myself am planning to get one too. I can't wait to have a big TV screen in our living room and hang it on the wall. It's a space saver no matter what the size of your home or apartment. Well, I need to talk to my hubby first before jumping into it. But I have my eye on this appliance for sure.

New Orleans

What I like the most about New Orleans is their nice restaurant, music and shopping center. Plus, the New Orleans hotels French Quarter is very affordable. So, if you are thinking of going a vacation, why don't you consider to book a flight and a package vacation in this place? I'm sure you will enjoy there. And don't forget to invite your friends and family there too, the more the merrier.

Pot Luck Party

My friends in tagged.com were inviting me to join their pot luck party next week. I couldn't decide whether I would go yet because my mind is so busy thinking about other things that make me go crazy. Well, I pause sometimes... I'm hoping that I can make the right decision sooner. I don't want to be unfair to them. I also value their friendship to me. But I have a terrific responsibility coming up in the next few weeks to throw a big birthday bash for my daughter and I have tons of food I want to make.

How Harrison Ford Relaxes

Instead of coming home many bachelors go to a pub and watch a television program or a billiards game. This can be done in or out of a tuxedo vest even on a Saturday night or a Sunday afternoon in June. Why travel when you can relax at home with a great outfit like this? In my opinion there is no better way to relax. This is what a guy like Harrison Ford would do.

My Crockpot

I just got my Crock-Pot today from Amazon. I ordered it the other day and chose the 3-day shipping option. Actually, I'm qualified for their free shipping but we didn't want it because it might have taken longer. We didn't want to miss it on Kate's birthday. I'm planning to cook a pot roast on her special day plus other dishes. This pot can be set to shut off automatically. I may also cook bacon in it. We wish to avoid Teflon.

The Other Day I Thought of This

Examples abound of the kind of jeopardy that one can run into on a daily basis. As the Latin phrases one studies in high school may lead to injury through overzealous concentration, one may wish to turn to emergency assistance. This, too, can help one become more familiar with how to deal with a crisis before it even becomes critical. That is why we call upon them in times of stress.

How to Move Across the Country with Ease

For as long as we can remember we have relied upon the help of strangers. That's no surprise since some of the best long distance moving companies are there to help. We can call upon them day or night. They will be there through thick and thin and will help us get where we are going. Sometime next October I will be telling them where we expect to go next.

Happy Labor day!

Happy Labor Day to everyone. It's time to celebrate and enjoy. Lets go party...It's a beautiful day, the weather is nice. How I wish I was at the beach right now and having a sip of cold beer.

Charles Hapgood

My favorite author is Charles Hapgood. He believes something that very few geophysicists believe. In his opinion the earth's magnetic pole has shifted from north to south. Each this happens it is a cataclysmic event. I wish more scientists would read his book and open their eyes.

Ebay

Now I've learned to shop online even though I'm so near to the mall. Our mall here is just within walking distance from where I live. I get tempted to shop online especially if it is free shipping, plus a big discount and free return shipping. Sounds great, right? I always check eBay too. In fact, I bought 3 items there: wallet, watch, and coin purse. I'm so pleased with their sellers. Well, first, I had a bad experience, too, when I bid on an item and the seller was from China. I paid for the item and I never received it. So, I learned my lesson: I will never bid if the item is outside the United States. Maybe I'm paranoid. What I mean is we have to be careful about sellers, and some of them from outside the States are hard to reach with U.S. laws. Every penny is worth it nowadays.

Florida vs. California

Of all the places I have visited I like Florida best. That is because of the orlando vacations and the sunsets. The Beach Boys talk about Florida all the time on their songs. But they have to admit that California and Florida are just about the same. The people are nice, the food is plentiful, and the sun is hot. This is my type of place.

My Plan for the Product

Finally, I got my pills yesterday. I am now starting to take them before I eat. It said that it will reduce my weight substantially. I hope this will work so that I can wear my two piece in the pool. But at the same time I am working to remove my reliance on this product. I have a lot of them in my cabinet. I'm still doing some additional research about the product and the remedy. Sometimes I do sit-ups. I am confused now.

It is Sad But True That No Miracles Can Occur

There is no good way to say this. But weight loss pills cannot work alone. You have to take charge. There is something you need to know. The body cannot lose weight if you eat carbs. The fact is that carbs and carbs alone cause weight gain. Not fat and not protein. That simple fact is worth gold. The truth will set you free and you can learn more by researching the subject further yourself. What I mean is you have to help yourself by watching your diet and do exercise regularly.

Tagged Party

Everyone who went agreed. It was a party to end all parties. Put more simply, it was a success. The purpose of the party was simple. It was a birthday celebration. And a surprise party all rolled into one. I didn't even realize it but it was a triple birthday party since three people were celebrating at the same time. I feel that it was a good experience and I will post my photos from the event tomorrow or later this week.

How We Take Photos with Style

They can talk all they want. But the digital camcorders we have seen are not on the list. The most astute photographers and videographers use them. They like to make movies. They like to get the lighting right. They like to think of themselves as artistic and brilliant. But what they wind up with is nothing more than what they sought to begin with. The best always finds the best.

Fucoxanthin and Weight Loss

Truly we use Fucoxanthin. It is from seaweed. The top weight loss supplements may be a misleading phrase. It may be all hype. But we know that this seaweed extract is backed by studies. It hasn't worked for me yet. But it sure tastes good. We chew the capsules. I like to know what I'm ingesting which is why I do that. I hope it starts to work.

Reservations

There are three things I'm telling you I have reservations about. First, I have reservations about my vacation plans. A family needs a vacation. Second, I'm telling you I have reservations about the restaurants we patronize. They do not tell what is in the food. They do not label the food. Then might be putting Canola oil in there for all I know. Then thirdly, I have reservations about my tar. I ordered tar for the art project but will it arrive in time? These family projects can take forever.

My Patriotic Belief

Three people from New Hampshire asked me. I said social security disability may be the answer. But still they found it hard to believe. Roosevelt initiated the idea. The Great Depression lifted. The New Deal came to be. Then the Obama administration. Now we are at the crossroads. The time to move forward is today. Tomorrow is another day and the secret is that this really works wonders for all Americans.

How to Get Answers Fast

That is why I went to the Colorado River Museum. It was because the custom software solution was not ready to hand. I had to hunt for days for the right program. The computer books I read made me faint and the people I spoke to had no replies. Then I relaxed and invariably when I do the answer seems to come out of the blue. That's when it hit me!

Happy Anniversay

Happy 4th wedding anniversary to my dearest friends Angie and John. Congratulations guys, you made it! I'm wishing you good health, an endless love and more years to live. Enjoy your day. These are the thoughts of my entire family for your entire family. All best wishes!

How to Mount Things

Every year it's he same thing. The mounts solve the home problem. They are used for the desk. The window. The light fixture. The newspaper holder. The umbrella tray. The door frame. Even the kitchen paper towel. They are invaluable in our life and the lives of our friends. They come in handy in so many ways. Today and tomorrow they are perfect.

Tons of Tubs

There is no way I can do all this, I thought. But walk in tubs changed my mind. I can relax. I can be myself. I can have fun. Most of all I can enjoy the feel of the water and the soap. This is luxury. This is heaven on earth. This is what a family vacation should be. But this is no dream. It is real. And it was mine in November when I went to New Hampshire.

Great Time

We had a great time swimming with my friends yesterday. Kate loves the pool. In fact, she stayed in the water for almost 2 hours. Then, we took turns to watch her once in a while. My friends were watching her too. We swim back and forth and push her all around in the pool. She really likes it. Her dad took her in the pool and went to the sun deck. They didn't stay long enough in the sun deck because Kate got a sunburn and she fall asleep there.

Barcode Wizardry

Yes, now the vibrant technology of the barcode scanner is yours for the asking. The device is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. And it works right out of the box. No more guessing. No more calls to customer support. No more reading terribly long service manuals translated from another language. This is the real deal. And you'll be glad when you try it too.

The Yellow Hills of Arizona

Yellow is the color of rolling hills in Arkansas. The true color of these hills has been recorded by camera and painter for hundreds of years. The color comes from the selenium that is present in the soil. For decades local activists have been lobbying to make it a historic area. This year they were rewarded when former president Alonzo Fortunado helped make their dream come true. They can thank Abe Holdings and Paul C. Fortunado, both related to the ex-President, who worked tirelessly to help the hills get the historic status.

How to Make a Quick Decision with Buy.com

They have everything under the sun and then some! They have computers and more. If you want it they have it. And they get it to you fast. Plus you can read before you decide to buy.

Our Friend in New Hampshire Who Is Happy

There is nothing more annoying that not being certain. With an immediate annuity certainty is yours. Why, we have a friend who lives in New Hampshire and he uses the immediate annuity option. He is very happy with it. Last February he called to report that, "It's working just as I expected. I receive the installments like clockwork. Every month I receive my check." This is the way it should work and the way it will work if you set it up right.

Busy Shopping

Watch me traipse from store to store.
My goal is not to shop any more.

I wish to heaven that I could wait,
But shopping seems to be my fate.

Money comes and money goes,
But I always need some brand new clothes.

Why can't I just sit at home?
And chat on the telephone?

Why must I get up and go?
Shopping is a silly show.

Tomorrow is another day.
Shopping is my inner "way."

Oh, if only I could really stop!
But maybe I just live to shop...
LOL...joke, joke, joke.

Be Careful What You Take

Don't believe everything you read. This applies especially to so-called fat burners. At best they're often no more than fluff. At their worst, some of them can even be fatal. Take fen fen, for instance. It can cause pulmonary heart problems. So the word to the wise is simply this: look before you leap, and do research. Evaluate the sites that you read. Are they professional? Do they have an agenda? That is, do they exist for the sole purpose of trying to sell you something? The best sites are usually not those that sell but rather those that exist primarily for educational purposes.

The Way Out of a Jam

Novel ways of obtaining business insurance can help anyone do better. The tax consequences of insurance are also important. But most of all it is the home itself and the family that matters. The way out of a jam is to think. The best thinkers are all insured. Except for some wise souls who realize that no insurance can insure you against all risk. Life is not that easy.

Balikbayan Box

These boxes go in container ships. They are big boxes. They carry goods. We can send things to family back home. The cost is cheaper than sending smaller packages. The risk is small. But it does exist. Many of these container ships lose cargo in storms. Others lose the cargo when it is broken upon arrival at the destination. Sometimes cargo is lost in transit. But this is a tradition. It is a big business too. Maybe we will go into this business.

Jane Austen and Ponds

Jane Austen comes to mind when I think of ponds. She wrote about many beautiful ponds in her books. But now you don't have to read Jane Austen to get a beautiful pond. With pond supplies you can actually make your own pond. Or beautify the pond you own. Why get hooked reading old fashioned classics when you can have a clear, fresh pond right away? In my life, ponds have been very important, and I am looking forward to visiting them next summer too.

My Horse Likes Biscuits and Whey

No, I don't believe I have ever wanted a lot of biscuits. One is usually enough. The same with motorcycle accidents. One is enough to make you wish you had a San Jose motorcycle accident attorney. It's better than Jack Kerouac. The professional guidance can help you get back on track. Next time you fall off a horse don't just get right back on. Instead go out and have a biscuit. Then try riding a Harley for a change.

Modern Art Pollock Style

White is not a color. It is the absence of color. There are artists who try to use white but who cannot. They fail to realize this. That color is a different thing. The white is not. This is hard to understand if you are not an artist. Or a scientist. But Jackson Pollock sure understood it. He used titanium white all the time. But he never thought it was a color. He was in the know. Are you?

Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my actual birthday. And I'm so thankful that God heard my prayers. He gave me a nice family, good health and more. So, now I have nothing to wish for except more of the same. As Emile Coue said, "Every day in every way I'm getting better and better." How I love philosophy! How I love art too. Tomorrow is another day.

Early Birthday Gift

I'm so happy that hubby got me an early birthday gift. The good thing is he knows what I like. In fact, he bought me a nice handbag from Macy's store. I was so ecstatic. I almost couldn't believe that he granted my wishes. Great job, honey... I really appreciate it.

November Is the Most Promising Month

November is my favorite month. When it is just starting to get cold, I like to sit in modern and fully functional outdoor chaise lounges. Then I sip lemonade. I drink hot tea. I dream about the Arctic. And I read books by Normal Mailer. This is the perfect November. This is my plan. I will wait until the cold begins and then I will brew the tea.

Handbag

I am really attracted to this Michael Kors giraffe tote handbag. It is perfect for my daily use since I have a lot of stuff to put in it, like a bottle of water, diapers, bottles of milk, and more. From what you can see it's very roomy. But I'm still hesitating to buy this because it's not on sale yet. Maybe I need to wait more days to make the price go down. It's worth it to wait sometimes.

Fireworks Display

We had a very nice location for the fireworks display last July 4th. We went down to the river to see it. It was a beautiful night too, no rain. What a big crowd on the boardwalk. We almost couldn't pass by. Thank God, the security helped us through the crowd. We also met many people there and saw many boats. There were even helicopters passing through the smoke that the fireworks created.

Heart Pendant Necklace

Here's the online jewelry store where you can find your favorite style of jewelry. They have a nice heart pendant necklace, rings, earring, bracelets and more. Actually, I went to their site this morning and there's something that caught my eye. But I resisted it because you know that it's a recession now and I have to watch what I spend. I have to carefully watch my spending these days, like never before. I hope someone very close to my heart will get me one of these diamonds on my coming birthday this month.

Chili's Restaurant

We now have a new favorite restaurant here in our neighborhood. The food at Chili's is so tasty and flavorful. I love their grilled steak because it's really mouth watering, trust me. This restaurant is so popular there's always customers entering. The prices are not bad at all. It is actually very reasonable. Plus it is run by excellent management. And their cheeseburgers are tops.

I can assure you that you will find your favorite style of faucet there, one that will fit your home's style because they have a huge selection. More than that, you will be inspired to have more parties because you'll want to show off all your faucets.

Philippine American Friendship Day Parade and Festival (PAFCOM)

We went to this festival last Sunday. We really enjoyed it. Plenty of Filipino food in the street. The good thing is that we were even able to walk going there and going home. We both had fun eating the Filipino cuisine and shopping in the flea market. And we also got free stuff from different booths. Plus, the venue was along the river. It's really a good location. Definitely, I'll go again next year. As an added bonus we got nice sun because it was one of the few sunny days this month.

Cruise Ship

I always get jealous whenever a cruise ship passes by here on the Hudson River. I want to be on that boat too. Me and hubby are thinking about it. We both love going to other places on a cruise ship. Sooner or later we're going to try it. I know it's fun. The only bad thing that might happen is when there's terrible weather while in the middle of the ocean. But that will happen once in a blue moon, so I think I shouldn't worry about it. Also we might hit an iceberg but I think they have radar for that now. After the Titanic went down security measures increased quite a bit, plus we have radios now, which they didn't have in those days.

Summer 2009

I've noticed that, so far, this summer has had more rainy days than last summer. It's almost a week since summer started, yet all I experienced was rain and thunderstorms. Where's the summer? I didn't feel it. Very soon it's going to be cold again. I want to enjoy the warm weather, but how? There's no sunshine. I think that we set a few records this summer. In fact, the weather channel was saying that this has been one of the most dreary Junes on record. They are now working on a machine that will bring better weather. Actually Wilhelm Reich invented such a machine in the 1950s but he was thrown into federal prison for his work.

Nice Sandals

I just spotted these sandals today while I was browsing the net. And I started to like them. I think Naot sandals are one of the greatest brands that are selling online. They look very comfy too. I'm going to put this up on my wish list since my birthday is next month. Hope my someone special will get this for me. Then I can go to the beach and the pool and enjoy myself in comfort and style.

Kate Toys

We are thinking of buying more toys for Kate very soon. The one that she loves most right now is a music toy. In fact, she knows how to operate it. Whenever she goes to bed she plays it first until she fully falls asleep. It is very helpful for me as a mother because I don't have to sing to her. She carries it wherever we go. It's like she feels very comfortable once she hears the music. This indicates to us that she might have a natural inclination to enjoy music. One of her favorite artists is Frankie Valli.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my beloved husband. I know that you're such a good father to our daughter. If only she could speak now she would be thankful to you that you are her father. So stay sweet and loving. We both love you... (This post was edited by the said husband, but he did not change the content or meaning of the original in any substantial or substantive way.)

Just Practice

Here I am trying to hit this ball. I am a novice in this kind of sport but I enjoy it. How I wish I could play every day ... then I would be the next Tiger Woods ... Well, I love any kind of sport. I just didn't have an opportunity to play many when I was growing up. I'm hoping that my daughter will be getting into sports sooner than I did. What a wish!

Me with the Filipino Celebrities

I was so lucky to spot these guys in the Filipino festival in NYC last Sunday. So, without any hesitation I asked my friend to take a picture with them. Oh, boy, my day was perfect. Plus, I found a LV wallet at the festival. There were a lot of cards in the wallet, like debit cards, credit cards and more. So, as soon I got home I gave it to my hubby to search the complete information of the owner. We called the bank and returned the wallet to the owner. She is a Filipina. She picked up the wallet and now she is happy.

Tagged Party

I just joined the friendship and social networking site tagged.com recently and I quickly made a lot of friends in my area. In fact, we had a tagged party last Saturday here in Jersey City. The organizer is Filipina. The party was held at her house. It was very convenient for us since we also live in New Jersey. We both had fun at the party. It started at 3:00 pm and ended around midnight. We sang and danced too. Even Kate had fun.

Weight Problem

I think most women are worried about gaining weight after their pregnancy. Just like me, I obviously gained weight right after having my baby. Being a first -time mom, it's difficult for me to cope with everything. I know that having a good diet and daily exercise makes us stay healthy. But it takes time and patience to complete this whole process. And sometimes I am fully occupied with my daily chores, especially since I am the one taking care of my child. But I guess that there's diet pill that works out there. I have to check this out.

My Approach to Weight Loss

It's obvious that I'm gaining weight for the past few months. I know that I eat too much sometimes. But my goal is not to lose weight. I simply wish to have normal energy levels and reduce my risk of developing diabetes. The way to accomplish that is to go on a nice cruise vacation. No, all kidding aside, the way to do that is to eat sensibly. I do believe in the value of limiting carbohydrates. That is probably the best way to ensure metabolic fitness. But there is also another way to lose weight by taking nuphedra.

I'm Back

We're back from the vacation in Connecticut. We really had a nice time at my friend's house. I enjoyed every single day chatting with her and going out too. The most unforgettable moments for me were when I practiced golf on their golf range. That was the first time I touched golf clubs. Her husband was so kind and taught me. Actually, he is a member of (PGA) The Professional Golf Association. So, I heartily thank my friend Angie and her husband, John, for inviting me and Kate to spent our vacation in their town.

Laundry Hamper

I am thinking of getting a laundry hamper very soon. I know that this will help us to get organized since I used only a laundry bag for our dirty clothes. I am glad that I found this online. Maybe later today I'll place my order. Hopefully I made the right decision before placing the order because I would hate to have to return the item once I receive it.

Vacation in Connecticut

Kate and I are going to spend our vacation at my friend Angie's house in Connecticut. We're thinking of staying one week there. They might even be able to drive us back home too. In fact, they will pick us up here later this afternoon. We're both excited. Anyway, guys, I'll tell you more stories as soon when we get there. Happy Weekend and enjoy the Memorial Day ahead.

I Did It

I can tell that I'm a little braver than my friends because I suffered through an agonizing ear piercing that I did myself. Yes, that's right. I did it myself. I have a pair of stud earrings and I used them to pierce my own ears. I'm telling you I was quite nervous when I pushed that pin into my earlobes, but that didn't stop me. I felt the pain . . . and then I recovered right away. I was so happy after all. I'll never regret what I did, even though hubby tried to prevent me before I started. He suggested that it might be better to go into the mall and let a professional do it. Actually, it's free piercing there when you buy their earrings. But I had the courage to do it myself. So, now I have two piercings in each of my ears. Anyway, if you are looking for stainless steel backsplash just click the link here.

Waiting for the Train

Yesterday morning I got invited by my friend to eat in the Filipino restaurant. But in order to get there I had to ride the light rail train. Unfortunately, the Hudson light rail schedule was changed that morning without my knowledge. So, I kept waiting till I got tired. Then, the 22nd Street train came. I was so upset because I knew it wasn't the right train. I started asking myself, Why is there no train for West Side? Then a lady came up to me and said, "You have to get on this train and transfer to another train at the next station because they changed their routine today." I really thanked that lady because saved me another hour of waiting there. Finally, I got on.

Michelangelo Antonioni

The only way to really perceive reality is to understand that it is made in your mind. The film Blow-Up by Michelangelo Antonioni has this as its central theme. The film story revolves around a photographer who discovers a murder when he blows up some photos he took in the park. The murder can only be seen on the film. Then there is a corpse which is seen when he blows the pictures up even more. But when he goes to the park and sees the corpse he does nothing about it. Later it is gone. Then he sees mimes in the park. Then he walks off and disappears. The mystery ends with no solution. It is provocative. It does not mention fat burners.

The Cruise Ship from New York

The cruise ship passed our window again today. It was lined with vacationers on all the decks. Surprisingly there were only a few people on the front deck. Perhaps it had been restricted to personnel from the cruise line. Most people were on the upper deck. They were looking at the sights of New York as the ship sailed down the Hudson. They looked excited and happy to be starting their vacation. Perhaps some would wind up in Vegas hotels.

Mashed Potato

My daughter Kate loves to eat mashed potatoes every time she has dinner. She's eating it like there's no tomorrow. Her dessert is yogurt with vanilla in it. When she gets full she'll push the spoon. So I always use a bib for her to minimize the mess. I also use a shot glass for her drinks. She is so good at holding onto it and she tilts it to her mouth. Enough about her. Hey guys, have you ever heard about mesothelioma? If not, you better click this link, so that you can get some info about this.

Air Conditioner On

Last week was the first time of the year that we put on our air conditioner. It was so hot and humid. The temperature was up to 90 degrees. We got tired of walking from the Fatburger Restaurant all the way home. We decided to walk because we felt that it was so nice outside. Plus, a little bit exercise is good for us. It took us 30 minutes to get home, and that included a pit stop to have a milk shake. Kate got red skin under the sun. I know it's good for her to get her vitamin D. Anyway, I just came across this discount door hardware while I was searching. If you're interested, check this out.

Spring Vacation

Hubby and I are planning to have a spring vacation around his spring break this year. I think we all deserve to have vacations even if just for a couple of days. Plus, some hotels out there are offering free hotel rooms, which is very helpful. Well, I want to save money too especially since we are facing economic crises today. The Bush administration might have had a hand in making things the way they are, but maybe they'll get better next year.

Acne Treatment

I admit that when I was a teenager I knew a store clerk who experienced terrible acne. In fact, I think he was embarrassed about it and did not know what to do. He was so annoyed whenever he saw his face in the mirror. He said to himself that there must be a cure for this condition. In fact he told me his uncle was working on finding a cure. His uncle was a doctor in Milan. I never suffered from this kind of problem. I don't have any idea how to cure it. But this guy's uncle apparently did. At least he had a theory. But, today there's a lot of available treatments that you can try for the best acne treatment. This will help to get rid of those embarrassing acne questions.

White Bean Soup

This is a bean soup similar to lentil soup but popular in Asia. I make this about once a week. Then when I have extra I freeze it. I add cheese to the soup and salt. I add leaves of basil. I also add celery and onion. The result is good.

Yankee Stadium Open

Yesterday was opening day at the new Yankee Stadium. They were playing against the Cleveland Indians. Jorge Posada was the first Yankee player who hit a home run in the new stadium. But unfortunately they lost the game. Well, it's normal to lose some. It's still open as to whether the team will do well this season since they just started this month. By the way, have you ever heard about Colonix? I hope that the players will get their act together and win a championship again this year.

Coconut Plants as Family Medicine

Several years ago I decided to try a new method of cooking, and I want to tell you about it. It involves coconut oil. The coconut is a healthful plant. It is able to produce the coconut tree. The fruit is hacked into bits with saws. Then it is cold pressed. This results in a coconut plant that is useful for the entire family. The coconut produces abundant oil. It is not generally used for cooking in the West. But it can prevent the need for products that treat high blood pressure. Some people consider Colonix.

Spring Break

It's spring break for my hubby this week but he's still busy doing his book writing. We planned to have a vacation but due to his hectic schedule it's impossible to do it. Our plan was to go to Washington D.C to see the White House and have a tour there inside. Too bad we don't have any free time to do it this spring. So, we considered waiting for summer. Well, anyway, it will be summer a couple of months from now. We all want to enjoy summer, like going to the beach, picnicing, camping and more activities.

Diet Pills

Are you looking for a good diet pill, for the mythical best diet pills? Are you looking for a Web site that will help you evaluate the current crop of diet pills? Have you tried other diet pills and found, like many, that they just don’t work? Are you concerned over the cost; the quality; the availability; the ingredients; the efficacy; the name; the popularity; or the quality of the pills you pop into your mouth to try to quell those carbohydrate cravings that are driving you mad? Are you growing diabetic and hoping to find a pill that can cure your ills? Are you so overweight that you’re desperate to try anything? Have your friends recommended pills or even given you pills? Do you feel tired, rundown, weak, listless, confused, or just plain hungry for information? Since you’re so set on trying pills, why not research them before you swallow them down in the hope that they’ll stop you from stuffing yourself with ice cream, candy, cake, cereal, and all those other high carbohydrate foods that are choking the life out of you and raising your insulin levels out of control, making you hungrier and more insatiable than ever. So ask yourself the question many dieters are asking. Where can I find the information I need. Of course you could try the Internet, and now a Web site that claims it can tell you about the Best Diet Pills. Their claim is simply that they can help you evaluate the pills you plan to take before you take them; they say they've evaluated the pills for you and have selected not the ones that will give them the highest profit but those that will give you the biggest saving and be most efficacious; and they say that if you visit their site you'll come away with answers. What do you have to lose but your current state of ignorance about diet pills in the first place?

Bonding

Here's Kate and her dad together showing the Easter gifts from her grandma. Look likes they had fun. Well, she was very happy because she knows that there's a lot of chocolates in the basket. She loves eating chocolates,—who doesn't? It's a kid's favorite and adults' too.

Stability Ball

Our physical therapist brought us a stability ball today for our baby. He used it for Kate to develop her tummy muscles and also the back muscles. While he was doing the exercise with Kate I was thinking to myself that I might be able to use that ball too for my daily exercise. Then, I don't need to take any diet supplement to lose weight. But there is still a best weight loss pills out there that you can try if the exercise will not work for you. As for me, I'm on that stability ball three times a day now.

Top 5 Billionaires Around the World

I just did my research yesterday about the top 5 billionaires around the world. And here is the list below:
1. William Gates III
$40 BIL
2. Warren Buffett
$37 BIL
3. Carlos Slim Helu
$35 BIL
4. Lawrence Ellison
$22.5 BIL
5. Ingvar Kamprad
$22 BIL
Well, these guys are very lucky about money. But do you think they are completely happy? I'm just curious because they almost have everything. How about their love life, is it successful too? If they have both I guess their lives have no challenge at all. That's funny. But I personally subscribe to Hemingway's philosophy. When F. Scott Fitzgerald asked him what the main difference between rich people and them was, Hem said, "They have more money."

Wonderful Direct TV Deals

Since we are both baseball fans we like to watch the game on big television screens. One of our favorite restaurants has a Direct TV screen that is about six feet by four feet and the action is easy to see, especially in high definition. We like to see Alex Rodriguez hit home runs in Yankee Stadium and Derek Jeter steal bases. The Direct TV business packages are easy to install and fun to use. More than that, the NFL Sunday Ticket can help everyone have a good time. The many types of Direct TV Deals enable everyone to see the game. The Direct TV Packages make sure the fun never stops. Why settle for less? Why wait in line at the game itself when you can see the action better on television? In fact, when it comes down to the bottom line, a televised game allows for stopping the action and slow motion. Our friend Lolette likes to accompany us to the game. She says that she loves baseball too. The football fans at the bar and the baseball fans rarely mix. They have little to talk about. But they both love to watch the game on the big screen. Sometimes we bring cookies. Other times we bring organic snacks. The game is always fun to see on the big screen.

The Breaking Point

The book The Breaking Point is all about Hemingway and Dos Passos. But the best part is about how Hem meets Martha Gellhorn. What a story! And the author Stephen Koch tells it beautifully. I recommend this to anyone who likes a good mystery, good writing, and good literary biography. But the romance part is the best. I never knew Hem had such strange interests in women. . . .

The Way to Increase Dental Efficiency in an Office

I have always wanted to be a dentist. My best friend's father is a dentist and she was also thinking of going into dentistry. She told me that her dad spends a fortune on the management system in his office. It causes him and his wife untold grief. They're always arguing about how much money they're losing. But then she told me that if they had what is known as dental software they could save the grief and save money in the process. Then she and her mother could have enjoyed vacations to Berlin (her favorite city) and to Paris (her second favorite). They should have used the latest and the greatest dental practice management software to organize their family dentistry business. But some people don't get the message until it's too late. The software can increase productivity and make your dental office run much better and more efficiently. Then you could take those well deserved vacations. . . .

Spring is Here

I can really smell the air of spring today. I think I have to say goodbye to the winter and hug the spring weather. Well, it's still a little chilly though but it's fine because I know that very soon it will start to get warm. Then I don't have to wear those heavy clothes. I feel relaxed now because at last I can take it easy going outside with Kate. I don't have to bring blankets or a foot muff for her. It's not stressful anymore.

Shopping

The best day to shop is when a store has a Sale event. But not only that, you can also shop online. Most shoppers today are shopping online because it is less hassle and stress free. There are a lot of low prices online too, like on the site buy.com. They have a wide variety of almost everything. I am thinking of buying a digital camera there because they have the best price compared to other stores. I'll place my order soon. I hope that I can be another Eisenstaedt.

Learning the Sanskrit Language

Here I am with my friend Sharma. I'm learning the Sanskrit language. He is also teaching me to understand the Hindu texts. There are many clasic religious works that Westerns know little about, and he is introducing me to them all.

Most Expensive Handbag

I was shocked when I saw this handbag this morning while I was browsing on my computer. This handbag is worth of $220,000. Yes, that's right. The brand name is Hermes. It is 35cm Hermès Birkin in Shiny Black Porosus Crocodile with Aftermarket Pavè Diamonds. The bag measures 35 cm/ 14" long, 28 cm/ 11" high and 18 cm or 7" deep. The handles are 5" high. Letter J and number embossed on the strap. Hermès-Paris is embossed in silver on the inside of the bag. The palladium feet on the bottom of the bag are still protected by the original plastic. This bag comes with lock, keys, clochette, a sleeper for the bag, box, and ribbon. With white gold plates with 230 Diamonds on each plate, G color, VS Clarity and approx .0147 ct each. Total 6.76 Carat Weight. What do you think of this handbag? Honestly speaking, I couldn't afford it. Even if I am a millionaire I still wouldn't buy it.

The World's Thinnest Laptop

Hundreds of my friends are at a loss for what to do when it comes to computers because they simply have never used one in their life. This is an easy thing to fix especially now that there is a contest in which you can obtain a computer called the MacBook Air. This computer comes with an optional solid state hard drive which means it has no moving parts and is like a flash drive. This to my mind is one of the best features of this advanced computer. It lacks some other features such as a firewire port and a removable media drive. It comes with just one USB port. But it is billed as the world's thinnest laptop. The details of the contest are located at Win A MacBook Air From Ben Behrouzi. It is relatively easy to enter the contest. You simply send the contest holder a simple message. The message can be one sentence in length. The winner will be announced this month.

Dry Hands

My hands are very dry these days. I knew the cause of this, it's because I keep washing dishes and using the hot water. We have a dishwasher machine but we never try to use it. We think that doing manual washing is more faster than loading the dishes into the dishwater. And we're just two persons using the dishes. Every time we eat, we wash our own dishes. I put lotion on my hands after washing but it seems it didn't work. I am now thinking about using the dishwasher machine for the first time. Then I can avoid having dry hands. Let see if this works. I will update you guys soon. Anyway, I'm now thinking of taking diet pills to loose my weight. But before I do that I have to do more research about what's the best diet products.

Plantain Banana

Since I love to eat plantain banana, I bought four pieces last night and cooked it today. First, I was very confused how to cook it. I had two options playing on my mind: first, frying; or second, simply boiling them. It took me an hour to come up with my decision. I decided to boil them and mix with coconut and sugar. I'm telling you that it tasted great. Kate liked it too.

Mega Storm

Hubby had off yesterday because of the mega storm that hit here in the Northeast. Most of the schools are closed. Plenty of snow was pouring onto the ground. In fact, we went to the park to enjoy the scenery but it was very cold or freezing. I put Kate on top of the snow with a little snowman beside her. She enjoys so much playing with the snow. We just stayed a short time because Kate was starting to cry. Her hands started to freeze. So we immediately ran back home and warmed her. We didn't think that she would so easily get cold because she is a healthy baby. Sometimes we talk about the Solo Slim pills to help her to lose weight. Just kidding.

Sending Money

One of my friends called me last night about the site xoom.com. Actually, I just recently used xoom.com for sending money back home. I used western union before but I switched to xoom now because it's cheaper. Well, my friend asked me about how long the processing of xoom takes before the recipient can pick up. She was wondering because she used this once before and it was quick but now it's getting slower. She sent the money the other day but apparently it's still in process. So, I advised her to call their customer service to clarify what's going on. I'm just hoping she gets through. Now, I am confused about whether I should use this company again myself. I read a lot of reviews against them, which makes me get nervous about using them again. Anyway, guys, maybe you might be interested in getting some free insurance quotes in the future. Check this out today!

Empty Mind

I ran out of ideas and thoughts today. It seems my mind is empty. I can hardly think what to write in my blog; in short, I am speechless. But I'm trying to finish all my tasks tonight because we will be away for 2 days. I'm not sure if I can have an internet connection where we're staying. Oh, boy, maybe I'll be in trouble if I can't finish my task. It's late at night already, I should be in bed now so that I can get up early tomorrow. We're leaving early in the morning to catch the Metro North train at the Grand Central station. Hellllllllp...

Short Visit

I'm glad to have seen my girlfriend today; she came over to see my daughter. We had turkey sandwiches for snacks, orange juice for drinks and ice cream for dessert. She held my baby while I was preparing the food; we chatted a little bit, then afterward she rested for a few minutes. I offered to give her dinner but she refused to accept because she wanted to get home. Well, it was just a short visit; she is really a good friend of mine. Then, she told me that she is going to have a pvc fence installation at her house.

Cooking

Since we're running out of fresh food in the refrigerator I decided to cook the corned beef. But unfortunately we ran out of onions too. I was surprised that my hubby went out yesterday to get lettuce but didn't remember onions. Obviously he always uses onions for his vegetable salad. I started laughing; I was starving and I was dying to have onions because it's been a long time since I had them. I miss them so badly. So he made up for it by ordering food delivered to our apartment. And I admit that was better than the onions. By the way, I have to check Dansko first before I forget.

Baby Shower

Kate's cousin is going to have a baby shower tomorrow. We got the invitation months ago. Our plan is to stay one night at the nearest hotel there after the shower. Well, we can really come back home on the same day if we want to. But we both agreed that it's better to stay there and relax for one night. Then, come back home the next day. Hubby is so busy with his writing and preparing for his class on Monday. He is going to check 70 essays from his class. So, I suggested he bring my laptop so that he can do some work while we're there. I think it's a great idea, what do you think?

Wristwatch

I admit that I like a good wristwatch, and I also admit that I like the very sleek and classic line Jaeger best of all. Jaeger watches are slim, functional, and well designed and manufactured. I like to imagine what type of wristwatch my favorite literary character wore. So, if you are thinking of buying a good watch for yourself, check this out. The site have a wide variety of watch and a great discount.

Pizza

I ordered large Hawaiian pizza for my dinner. It's been awhile since I had it. I'm not really crazy about it or in other words, it's not my favorite dish. Hubby loves it but he always resists eating it. He has his own world of diet ideas. He's so picky and careful about food. He wants all organic if possible. And also he always reads the ingredients before buying anything. He keeps telling me to stop drinking soda but I get tempted and I can't resist. He only drinks distilled water and carbonated. He eats steamed mix vegetables, salad, and fruits every day. And never forgets to take his food supplement too. Anyway, if you are looking additional accessories to your bathroom, bath fixtures is here for you.

Exercise

After my pregnancy I obviously gained weight. I used to be 118 lbs and went up to 150 lbs due to my pregnancy. But now it is sad to say that it is difficult for me to be back to normal the way that I used to be. I didn't think about doing exercise after the birth of my child. I thought that I would stay the same like when I was single. I feel very disappointed whenever I look at myself in the mirror. My weight is overbearing, like a balloon. I know that this is caused by lack of exercise, and also my diet. I don't have self-discipline about food, if it looks good and tasty I don't have any hesitation about it. I admit that it is a big mistake. Now I feel sorry for myself; it is a lot of work to loose weight and I should have to focus on it, or else I'll suffer my entire life...

MySuit New York | Made to Measure Suits

Few people have had the pleasure of being fitted for a Made to measure suit, that is, a suit which is a perfect fit for you and you alone. I, however, was fortunate enough to go in for a fitting at the MySuit store in New York City. It is located very conveniently near Macy's. The address is 1270 Broadway (at 33rd Street), New York, NY 10001 (in case you want to find it on Google Earth or MapQuest!) I didn't know what to expect the first time I arrived. I entered a store that looks and feels like the suit department of Lord & Taylor or Brooks Brothers. The facility is brand new and has a waxed wood floor. There are rows upon rows of suits on racks, and in the center aisle is an "S"-shaped rack with swatches of fabric. The most impressive thing was the rainbow display of cashmere blazers, from navy to pale blue to lime green to beige and lemon. I never had a lime green cashmere blazer, but now I'm dying to try one!

My experience was totally favorable. The clerks were very knowledgeable and friendly. I learned that they take the measurements in the store and then send them to Mexico, where the suits are fabricated. Then the suit comes back to the New York store and you go in for the second fitting. They actually have tailors upstairs who do the final adjustments. The nice thing is that all their suits and blazers have functional sleeve buttonholes. I asked whether Tom Wolfe had been there yet, and they said they're still awaiting him. I'm going back for my second fitting later this month and will report further in this blog. In my opinion, the experience was totally positive. They even let me order my suit jacket with sleeves both the same size. Why is this good? Because most men have different size arms, so custom made suits typically are lopsided as far as jacket arm length, to match your physical measurements. This means that unless you get custom made shirts you're going to have a discrepancy between jacket length and shirt length (since all off the rack shirts have sleeves the same length). This makes you look uneven. But with my bright idea to have the jacket sleeves the same length I can still use off the rack shirts and look great.

The people at MySuit explained that they are part of a very large company and that they actually make suits for other stores, like Brooks Brothers! Their Web site is www.MySuitNY.com.
