Amy Poelher TV SHOW sneak peak

Today more than ever people are trying to know what is happening in their world, and one way to do it is through the Internet. The comedian Amy Poehler actually went to Boston College and graduated in 1993. She was part of the improv troupe, My Mother's Fleabag. Then she worked on Saturday Night Live. Now she has her own program and there is a widget you can get from the Internet to keep yourself in the know. You can also put it on your Web site, blog, Myspace or Facebook pages. You can click to get yours. This show features girls who are intelligent. They are role models for the modern girl. They are not afraid to participate in school, but most important they are not afraid to be smart and outstanding. Amy tries to help them laugh and to encourage them to be strong. This is an uplifting experience. They also play with Barbie dolls during the commercials. That too is part of growing up in America. This is one of the funniest comedians I have seen in a long time. I hope you get a chance to spread the word about this terrific widget. Aren't you dying to see her talk to these girls? You can! And you can get your own widget here. The Amy Poehler CozmoTV widget is fun to share.

A few months ago, I was quite crazy about the blogging business. In fact, most of my time I spent sitting in front of the computer, day and night, hoping that I could grab opps from advertisers. But recently I lost my energy because it's kind of slow. Staying at my computer is a waste of time. I think the advertisers are also losing their money because of the global crisis. I'm not going to blame them, but it's obvious to all of us that they're now only offering relatively small amounts for the bloggers. I'm just hoping that it will come back the way it used to be. Then, I can have some extra money for shopping.

Cash 4 Gold

I have been reading the stories of Scheherazade, the narrator character of the book The Arabian Nights: Tales from a Thousand and One Nights. My favorite is Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. The story tells how the wise Ali Baba found a cave filled with gold. This he entered and took some home. Throughout the story the forty thieves try to find him to kill him, but he escapes detection and eventually all the forty thieves are destroyed. Part of the fun of the story is the fact that gold is involved. For my money, gold is the best metal you can own. Gold increases with time. This means over time gold increases in value. The stock market may go up or down, but gold invariably goes up. There may, it is true, be fluctuations, but overall the direction is always up. This is why many people hoard gold. However this is an error. Let me explain why. When cash 4 gold is consulted you find that they buy gold. This is like Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, only this time there are no thieves; instead there is an honest merchant. More to the point, they will buy your gold.

I know what you're thinking. "I can't go to them," you think. "I have no way to get my gold to them." But they have a solution. They have been in this business for a long time and have paid out in their cash 4 gold business millions of dollars. They know that you might not be able to travel to their location, so they make it easy to send them the gold by pre-paid insured mail. They will then have the gold, analyze it, appraise it, and pay you directly with cash deposited into your checking account or by a check sent to you. Your choice.

These people are also familiar with the story of Ali Baba, and they know the value of gold. That is why they want to help you sell your gold. You will probably make a tidy profit. This is all to the good. For gold is one of the best investments, but to take advantage of the investment you must sell it and obtain the profit. Otherwise you will not profit from hoarding gold. So, go ahead and give them a try.

Hunter S. Thompson Movie

I have begun watching the , Where the Buffalo Roam. I think it is superior to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Both are good, but this movie has better camera work and the acting is quite good. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Johnny Depp. But Bill Murray is terrific too as Hunter S. Thompson. This is certainly a family movie and all the jokes are in good fun. I wish there was a way I could hear director's commentary but it does not exist for my DVD.

I was Shocked

Kate was on her walker while I was working at some of my tasks on my computer. But when I turned my head to see what she was doing I saw her reaching the food on the dining room table. So, I yelled at her but it was too late and she dropped the food on the floor. She looked at me like she felt guilty. I didn't think that she could reach up to our table. I have to be more careful because she has grown fast. She must have had a growth spurt.

Let the Hero Emerge

Heroes come in many types and from many lands, but as Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung have noted, the hero myth is usually centered around the same thematic elements, including the birth of the hero, his unknown childhood, his emergence into prominence, his fight with adversity, his receiving a gift, and his return triumphant. The fact that the hero must emerge may be of some interest to those who use online computer games, such as PS3.

Canals in History and Today

Powerful techniques exist to help the men who build canals; and these are not mere figments of peoples' imaginations, like the canals reportedly seen on Mars by Percival Lowell, no, these are canals like the Panama Canal, the Suez Canal, and the Croydon Canal -- some of civilization's greatest achievements, and not mere impossibilities. We are not talking, either, about gossamer flights of fancy like weight loss pills.

We're excited to see our dear friends again tomorrow. Actually, they're going to Florida but on the way to there they'll stop first in our house and sleep one night at the hotel that's closest to us. It's almost a year now that we didn't see each other since the baptism of my daughter Kate. Well, I'm going to prepare some Filipino dishes that I'm sure she's craving, including fish, which I bought fresh today at the market. Too bad it's winter and snowing. I know it is tough driving on the road if the weather is like this. Just imagine they're going to drive all the way to Florida. I'm hoping that they're safe on the road. But in this blue car they drive, I'm sure they'll be able to go fast and be happy.

Future of Genetic Research

There is not a geneticist alive who has not dreamed the impossible dream, that is, eliminating disease through genetic knowledge. Well, perhaps a few. But they have their heads in the sand. The truth is that the future is here and that future is genetic. C’elle knows this. They know it more than most companies and more than most futurists. They have their head out of the sand, so to speak, and are looking directly to the future. They know that women of childbearing years can collect their stem cells at home. Those women can use the technology provided by this company. They can send the material to the company. Then that stem cell pool is frozen and saved for future use. In the future when there is a need, a family member who is related by blood to that donor, can obtain cells that might treat disease. The Stem Cell Collection: A New Year’s Resolution is a campaign to alert you to the potential to take a step in this direction in 2009. You can make a difference in your life and the lives of those you are related to. This is one futuristic method of doing that which is real and which has good science behind it. More information can be found on the Order Now page and the Pricing page.

Funny Commercial

I would just like to share this funny commercial from the Philippines. This commercial makes me smile and releases all the stress that I've been experiencing today. Sometimes we really need to relax and rest from a stressful job. I hope, guys, that this video will help you smile too, like me. The characters in it really look like the president of the Philippines and the president of the United States. Enjoy!

Persona and Pen Names

I have run into some dilution of my persona and publicitywise it would have been much better had I simply dropped my original name altogether. I may still do that in the future although I really am unsure.

On the issue of having a proposal ready to go, it is absolutely essential that you do that. You will get agents asking to see it, so it must be ready to go out by return email. I always make sure that my proposal is ready, or will be ready within hours of my sending any email queries. I always send the queries by emaiul these days, too.

Plane Crash in Hudson River

I was surprised when my friend told me that there was a plane crash here in the Hudson river today. She was asking me if I saw the accident because we live here down the river. Unfortunately, not because I didn't open our window blinds or I didn't go out also. If only I know it I can look out through the window. The name of the plane is US Airways and have 155 passengers. The pilot did an amazing job to save the passengers' lives. Everybody on board on that plane is alive, only some suffered minor injuries. Passengers were confined in different hospitals, some are in Jersey City Medical Center. I couldn't imagine myself swimming on the river, it's very cold. In fact, it's snowing here. But thank God that they were all alive. What a miracle!

Cebu Toyo Corp. Dance Number

While I was browsing on the net this morning I came across in YouTube a video that my co-employees made, including and featuring dancing: Vhong Navarro Medley at the Cebu Toyo Christmas party. It really surprised me. I had a great time watching their video. I miss being there and I miss all my friends left behind. Time flies. I'm almost four years now here in the US and have one daughter. I hope that someday I can be able to visit them again. There's no better place than a homeland.

The Sickest Way to Live Healthy

Fifty or so years ago North Americans began to wake up to the idea that physical fitness was a good thing for health. Not that anybody did anything much about it. But around 1970 the fitness habit began to trickle down from world-class athletes and Olympians to the average person on the street. SOGO Active is part of that trend. It is a partnership between the Coca-Cola company and a nonprofit Canadian corporation with the stated goal of promoting a certain agenda, which includes talk about the value of physical fitness. Their campaign is called The Sickest Way to Live Healthy and can be found on the Internet at the above link. The site is a full-scale apology for the partnering of a mega commercial corporation with a small Canadian nonprofit. There is no question, however, that it is valuable to promote the idea of physical fitness for young people. Perhaps the site might help that goal by encouraging more sports activity by those in high school. My favorite part of the site is the FAQ which explains, in highly rhetorical fashion, why the partnership came into being. The bottom line is that there is a value in physical activity and if we can encourage it, that's all well and good. Interjecting a corporate message into the mix is enough to put a smile on the face of Vance Packard. So, try to check SOGO Active today.

What's Your Word?

Your Word is "Love"

You see life as possibility to form deep connections with a few people.

Relationships are the center of your world, and you always take time to bond with those you love.

You are caring and giving. You enjoy helping those you love.

And when it comes to romantic love, you feel passionately ... even in a very long term relationship.

I took this test because I was curious to know about my own word. And it is fun to know about yourself too. You discover a lot of things that you never knew before. I didn't really think that my word result would be love. I didn't have any idea before taking this test. But I'm so glad that it came up with a sweet word. For me, love is a complex thing and has a lot of meaning. It makes everybody confused. Each person has their own definition of love based own their own experiences. So, what's your word? I encourage you also to take this test, then you will know your secret word too, just like me.

Godiva Chocolates

I am a big fan of Godiva chocolates because they taste great. But they're a little bit expensive compared to other chocolates. I think it's a nice gift to give on Valentine's Day to people who love chocolates. And if you're worried about eating it because you're overweight Leptovox is here for you. It will burn your fat. But if you have any doubt about it, just make your own research before you take it. It's just as simple as that.

I Can't Believe!

A few days ago, I received an email from that I am one of the top 5 bloggers who got selected to receive a free men's suit that's worth $495. I was very ecstatic and hubby too. So, I wrote a thank-you note to them that we're very flattered to hear about it. Then, we made an appointment to go in their place. The woman was very nice talking with us on the phone and agreed on the time that we wanted. This is the first time that hubby will get a suit made to measure. He is very excited and can't wait to go tomorrow to NY. We'll give you an update about it and how it works. Stay tuned! We're both big fans of John T. Molloy's books and will report more on their info, too.

IDUG Contest

You will enjoy this, I'm sure. As a family blog, we report on all kinds of fun activities a family can do together. This is one of the best we've seen. You can get together, the father and mother and kids too, and enter the IDUG contest. The contest is open to all who are interested in entering and who meet the contest eligibility requirements. You can also enter the similar but slightly more challenging XLM Contest. I hope you do what I did and enter both. They're fun! You don't have to be a computer geek either. You can have a minimal knowledge. You don't even need to own a computer. You can just enter on your friend's. That's got to be one of the easiest contests I've ever heard of. What I like most is that the two contests are both open. This means you can have twice the fun. Not just one, but two fun contests, and both relating to computers. That has to be the neatest contest situation I've encountered in 2009, and trust me, I enter a lot of contests. I don't know why, but I love them all. Plus, I almost forgot to mention. They have terrific prizes you can win. Which makes it all the more fun, doesn't it? Check IDUG contest today!

Happy Birthday!

Today is the birthday of my loving and caring husband. I don't have a big gift to give him but my unconditional love for him will remain forever. Once again honey, happy birthday. May you have good health and happiness the rest of your life. I hope that the Lord will grant your wishes someday. Just don't give up or just let your finger be crossed. Best wishes to you! Shhhhhhh, I have a surprise gift for you,(:. Okay, I will pay our dinner, next time we go out.

How to Get Ahead in Nursing

Today a brilliant family blog must reveal secrets that readers can use. This blog always does that, investigating financial advantages, academic opportunities, and even career paths that can help family members succeed. The MS nursing is one such program. In short, it can help women achieve their dream of being a nurse. The nursing program offers a Master of Science degree, which will help you work in the field of nursing like a pro. You will learn online, which means you can study from home. Then you will go to the campus for a single weekend of hands-on work. In this way, you will get an accelerated learning experience. Quick and breezy, the course will help you earn a degree. What you do with it is up to you, of course. But many women have started real careers with such a degree. The future is yours when you have that degree and the kind of experience that an employer seeks in a nurse. Only a nurse can make the difference in the lives of so many. Make a difference in their lives, and in yours. Apply today.

Salinger's Women

The work of J.D. Salinger is remarkable for its inclusion of some very interesting female characters. First is Phoebe from Catcher. She is remarkable because she represents the anima, or the female side of the protagonist. Whereas Holden has difficulty relating to adults and to almost everyone else in the book, considering them all phonies ("I was surrounded by phonies."), he does cherish his little sister. To him, she represents all that is good and fine in human relationships. In essence, the character represents an absent part of Holden's personality, the part of a human personality that can relate to other people. Significantly, Phoebe can relate to her parents and to Holden and to others. This is something that Holden has yet to integrate into his own persona.

Another female character that Salinger created to represent the spiritual side of himself was Franny Glass. Franny is one of the eight Glass children in the fictional world Salinger created, a world that carries over into a number of stories and novellas, including Franny and Zooey and Seymour: An Introduction. Franny, the youngest of seven children (as explained in a footnote in Zooey), is on a quest to find spiritual knowledge. The biography of Salinger written by Paul Alexander offers insights into why this is actually a biographical fact about the author. It turns out that Salinger himself was on a spirtiual quest, and the character of Franny pursues a goal similar to his own quest for spiritual enlightenment. In Franny she has a conflict with her materialistic boyfriend Lane Coutrell; and in Zooey, she has a nervous breakdown and is talked out of a delirious crying jag by her older brother Zooey. His comment that "There isn't anyone out there who isn't Seymour's Fat Lady" suggests that her attempt to reach enlightenment cannot be confined to reading her Jesus Prayer book. She must go outside the prayers and engage the world in dialogue by acting and doing. His message, which Franny "gets" in the concluding words of the story (which is why she smiles at the end) is the classic message of Zen Buddhism: You need to be detached and to quench desire, and yet you still need to act and be part of the day-to-day world. "You can say the Jesus Prayer from now till doomsday, but if you don't realize that the only thing that counts in the religious life is detachment, I don't see how you'll ever even move an inch," says Zooey. "The only thing you can do now, the only religious thing you can do is act." The message is received by Franny on the last page of the book because it gives her peace and allows her to pick up where she left off, without crying or feeling that she's lost her mind. In fact, her smile indicates she has found peace and enlightenment.

These female characters are clearly parts of Salinger's persona, and as such they are full-blown projections from the mind of the artist to the pages of his work. What lesson can they teach a writer? The primary lesson is that when creating female characters it's vital to avoid stereotypes and instead seek within yourself for the key elements of your own personality that might be relevant to your story. The deeper you dig the stronger your female character will be. If you're a male writer, you can use your own anima to create realistic female characters. (In Jung's psychology, the anima is the female psychological characteristics that all males possess, just as the animus is the male part of a woman's psyche.) The task is not as difficult as it seems. It was done by D.H. Lasrence, Flaubert, and J.D. Salinger, to name but a few. Aim for the heart of the psyche and your female characters will live and breathe like true people.

Hilton Holiday Savings

Every family deserves a vacation and every family should take a trip, at least once, to Branson, Missouri. Why is this? There are two good reasons, and both revolve around world-class resorts. The first is the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing. We stayed there are were impressed with the five-star service. The second is the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Our business associates attended a convention there and said it was a wonderful experience. Some of the fun activities we enjoyed include a trip to the Tom A Epps Park and the North Beach Park. Yes, we even went to the Branson City Campground because we are avid campers. There, we met my Uncle Larry, and we went trout fishing. He is a big outdoorsman, as are we all in our family. This family blog also recommends the Winter Escape Package, now featured at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Here's a simple itinerary of what you can do in Branson:
  • Trout fishing
  • Shopping
  • Indoor pool swimming
  • Birdwatching
  • Boating
  • Theatergoing
  • Fine Dining
The photo of the Branson area shows a lake Uncle Larry boats on with his small yacht. We all enjoy visiting the city because of the numerous activities available throughout the year. We hope to visit again real soon, and maybe we'll see you there this year!

So Scary

We were both scared when Kate got a cold and a fever the other day. It was her first time to experience a fever. She couldn't sleep for the entire night, catching her breath. It was like a shock for her. She was very cranky and fussy. I felt so sorry for her every time I looked at her. I couldn't stop myself from crying. She was so miserable. But today, she is a little better, actually fine and happy. Thank God, the fever is over. The cold remains but I know that sooner or later it will get healed too. We always keep an eye on her and take her temperature every now and then. She's an only child and very protected by two caring parents.

We finally bought a new stroller for Kate. I did my research first before we decided to buy. I think we made the right choice for this one. It is a travel system stroller from the brand of Maclaren. It's lighter than the Graco. I really love it and Kate too. It has a nice design also. It is perfect for the mom on the go, like me. The price is worth it. And the stroller moves very effortlessly.

One of the best things about this stroller is that it is maneuverable and easy to turn. You can stop on a dime. You can also carry things in the bottom.

Another advantage of this design is evident from the photo. It has straps that prevent the child from leaning forward. These shoulder straps are pink in this photo.

Amusement Park’s Holiday Sale

We love vacations, especially family vacations. A family blog that talks about the value of vacations is really what we are. We enjoy reminiscing about Jersey Shore beach vacation. We went to Morey’s Piers and enjoyed our vacation in New Jersey. We had terrific accommodations and went to some wonderful restaurants. There is a nice holiday sale which Morey’s Piers offers. It is a good way to save! They also have season passes. You can give them as gift certificates, too. Their gift cards have a pleasing picture on them. They make great gifts and are such an unusual and pleasant surprise. I wish I could get a few for myself. Maybe some of my friends will see this and give me one. Happy New Year! What a way to celebrate! Please believe me when I tell you that Morey’s Piers is a marvelous location for a New Jersey vacation and their cool Web site is the perfect spot to discover hotels and motels in Wildwood, New Jersey. The attractions they have are amazing. They have amusement rides. You can feel like a kid again. You can take your kids. They'll love it. They'll never forget it. Then you can take them to any number of different restaurants. Check the annual holiday sale today! The sale runs December 1 through January 9 and you can really save nearly 40% on a Season Pass to both waterparks.

Romance in Kafka

Kafka is known for being a dark and brooding writer, focusing on the endless red tape one encounters in a bureaucracy. His heroes try with all their might to accomplish some simple task, such as getting an appointment with someone, and fail. In The Trial the hero is arrested for no apparent reason and goes through endless machinations to try to get the case resolved. In the Castle the hero tries to get to the Castle and never even sets foot in it. In "The Metamorphosis" the hero is turned into an insect and never knows why. But despite the overarching darkness, Kafka also included bright patches, little discussed, but which add an element of reality and romance to his otherwise expressionistic nightmares.

In The Trial, for instance, the hero has a relationship with various women. In The Castle he has an affair with a girl on the floor of a bar. These romantic scenes are the result of Kafka's underlying romanticism.
