Family Film Classics
No family can say it. That is, unless they wish to watch the family budget. For auto insurance is a game today. But a real one at that. The films of Goddard and the French New Wave suggest nothing less. Weekend was a classic precisely because it dealt with car crashes in such a blatant way. Family films can take other forms, but who can doubt that this was the high point of the 20th century film?
